Chief Accountant

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Chief Accountant to oversee the accounting function, lead a team, and ensure accurate financial reporting, robust internal controls, and compliance with applicable UAE tax requirements. The role reports to the Finance Manager and supports management with financial analysis and insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the accounting team, ensuring effective task allocation, review, and timely delivery.
• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end and year-end closing.
• Prepare and review financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support management decisions.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, and applicable accounting standards.
• Maintain financial controls, accounting policies, and accurate financial records.
• Coordinate internal and external audits and address related documentation and reporting requirements.
• Use Oracle and Microsoft Excel to support financial reporting and accounting processes.

Candidate Requirements

• 10+ years of accounting experience in the UAE.
• Demonstrated experience leading an accounting team and managing an end-to-end accounting function.
• Strong financial reporting, reconciliation, budgeting, and forecasting capabilities.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT, Corporate Tax, accounting principles, and internal controls.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software; Oracle experience is an advantage.
• ACCA or CA qualification preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.

Working schedule: Normally six days per week, eight hours per day; some Saturdays may be off depending on work requirements.
