At Avon, we're passionate about empowering people and driving business success through strong financial stewardship. We're looking for a Chief Accountant to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across our accounting processes. This is an exciting opportunity to work with regional and global stakeholders while making a meaningful impact on our finance operations.As Chief Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records and reporting. You'll oversee month-end and year-end accounting activities, support statutory and corporate reporting requirements, and help ensure all financial statements and tax obligations are delivered accurately and on time. Working closely with finance teams, auditors, service providers, and business partners, you'll provide expert accounting guidance, support audits and inspections, and help strengthen financial controls. You'll also contribute to process improvements, share best practices, and help drive operational excellence across the finance function.
Key responsibilities:
Preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting activities.
Managing statutory financial statements and local regulatory filings.
Supporting month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliations.
Overseeing compliance with IFRS, US GAAP, SOX controls, and internal policies.
Coordinating external audits, statutory audits, and regulatory inspections.
Monitoring changes in local regulations and implementing required process updates.
Partnering with finance, tax, internal control, and shared services teams to enhance processes and ensure effective service delivery.
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and compliance across accounting operations.
What we're looking for
4+ years of experience in finance or accounting, ideally within a multinational organization.
Degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with a professional accounting qualification preferred.
Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards.
Experience working with accounting systems and financial reporting processes.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
Experience working in international and cross-functional environments.
A proactive mindset, continuous improvement focus, and enthusiasm for learning and development.
