Description

Reports directly to theAssistant Director of Admission & Recruitment. The Admission Advisor serves as primary contact for prospective and admitted students, focusing on recruitment, admission completion, onboarding, and academic success. This role supports students through the admissions process, provides program specific registration, and helps students navigate their college experience to support long-term retention and success. The position provides direct support to the Admission & Enrollment Services department and may assist with first-year onboarding and pathway planning. This position is a full-time, 12 months, benefit eligible position.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Anticipated Hiring Range: $50,806 - $62,999/annual - depending on education and experience
  • Cafeteria Plan: In addition to the base compensation, benefits-eligible employees receive an extra $6,720 per year to put toward benefit costs or to be used as additional take-home pay
  • Paid Holidays: 21 (including a full week off between Christmas and New Year’s Day and over Spring Break)
  • Vacation & Sick Leave: Approximately 17 paid vacation days & 9 paid sick leave days accrued annually

  • Participates in recruitment initiatives to increase the CCC prospective student enrollment pipeline, including high school visits, college and career fairs, individual advising appointments, campus tours, and other outreach activities.
  • Represents CCC in a professional and engaging manner at local, county-wide, regional, and statewide recruitment events and with community organizations to promote College programs and enrollment opportunities.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with high school counselors, administrators, community organizations, and external partners to support student access and promote CCC educational opportunities.
  • Conducts high school presentations and assists in developing recruitment schedules and outreach strategies aligned with the College’s Strategic Enrollment Management Plan.
  • Supports on-campus, virtual, and off-campus recruitment and onboarding programs, including Welcome Week, Transfer Visit Days, and other enrollment-related events.   
Admissions and Enrollment Guidance
  • Advises new and transfer students throughout the admissions process using the college CRM platform (e.g., Element 451) and other technology tools to provide holistic, student-centered guidance; maintain proactive communication, build rapport, identify enrollment barriers, provide referrals to internal and external resources, and guide students from initial inquiry through admission, onboarding, and enrollment.
  • Reviews and processes admissions applications and residency documentation; interprets and explains college, state, and federal policies related to residency classification, placement, and admission status to help students understand requirements and make informed enrollment decisions.
  • May assist students with first-year onboarding, including completing Financial Aid; first-year academic planning; and referrals to New Student Orientation, Academic Advising, and Student Services specialty programs.
  • Provides comprehensive program information, guidance, and access to student resources in alignment with the College’s mission, retention strategies, and institutional initiatives.
  • Utilizes expertise in academic programs to support incoming students in selecting an appropriate program of study and registering for their first semester courses.
  • Advises students on the potential academic and enrollment impacts of key decisions, including course additions or withdrawals, program or major changes, and transfer planning, ensuring informed choices that support long-term success.
Student Records and Registration Support
  • Collaborates with fellow Enrollment Services Specialists to manage applications and residency determinations in the college CRM platform ensuring timely review, troubleshooting, and documentation processing.
  • Supports students with submitting Official/Unofficial transcripts from High School, College, or completing placement testing to ensure proper course placement.
  • Interprets and explains complex college, state, and federal policies related to residency classifications and various admission statuses (e.g., unique student, dual enrollment), helping students make informed decisions.
  • Supports students in navigating Banner Self-Service, resolving registration errors, and removing barriers to enrollment.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for program-specific registration into first-semester coursework, including initiatives such as Summer Bridge and other cohort-based programs. Works closely with program coordinators and academic departments to ensure appropriate placement, course selection, and timely registration aligned with each program’s requirements and timelines.
  • Reviews, verifies, and processes student-submitted forms and documentation for completeness and accuracy; updates records in Banner with attention to data integrity and routes materials to appropriate staff or departments as needed.
  • Verifies that all student records are imaged, uploaded, and indexed accurately in AppXtender, by institutional, state, and federal retention and privacy regulations.
Collaboration and Customer Service
  • Serves as a primary representative for the College and Admission and Enrollment Services, acting as a liaison to branch campuses, providing information on college policies, and delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Protects student privacy in compliance with FERPA, promoting respect and confidentiality at all times.
  • Fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students and colleagues, contributing to the College’s inclusivity and diversity initiatives.
  • Participates in college-wide committees and functions as workload allows, supporting collaborative efforts within Academic Affairs, Marketing, and Community Relations.
Data Management and Reporting
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of College programs and maintains confidential records of advisement participants.
  • Utilizes Degree Works audit software to monitor student progress, may formulate academic plans, and support transfer credit evaluation, graduation applications, and curriculum/scheduling processes.
  • Analyzes and maintains student enrollment and advisement data to support recruitment, retention, reporting, and Strategic Enrollment Management initiatives.

Self-starter with demonstrated ability to develop outreach initiatives, understand institutional enrollment and retention goals, and translate ideas into measurable strategies and outcomes. Knowledge of admission and registration, academic advising and retention best practices in higher education.  Knowledge of community resources and referral processes.  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals and groups from diverse  cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.  Ability to present information clearly to high school students, adult learners, and other audiences.  Strong written, verbal, analytical, and organizational, and customer service skills.   Working knowledge in Microsoft Office Suite required; knowledge of Banner student information system, Degree Works audit software, and customer relationship management systems preferred.   Ability to operate standard office equipment.

Travel and Work Schedule Requirements
This position requires local, regional, and occasional statewide travel to represent the College at recruitment events, high school visits, college fairs, community events, and other outreach activities. The position requires flexibility to work occasional evenings, overnight travel, and weekends as needed to support recruitment and enrollment events and meet the needs of prospective students and the College. A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel independently as required by the position are required. Bachelor's degree in education or related field, and two years of directly related experience in student affairs, academic advising, career counseling, project management, or related field within a higher education setting; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Preferred
A master’s degree in education, Counseling, Educational Leadership, or a related field is preferred.  Experience working in a community college. Experience with academic advising in a higher education setting.  Experience with tracking systems for monitoring student progress and program requirement compliance. Experience working with culturally diverse students. Experience with student activities and leadership development programs. Experience with retention programs.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk; and hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and move between offices, campuses, event locations, and recruitment settings.  The employee may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and lift or carry recruitment materials, displays, supplies, or other items typically weighing up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a standard office environment as well as in campus, school, community, and recruitment event settings. The position requires frequent interaction with students, families, employees, school personnel, community partners, and the public. The noise level is usually moderate but may vary during presentations, fairs, campus activities, and other outreach or enrollment events.
