Commercial Auto Claims Examiner - Bodily Injury

Job Summary

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Commercial Auto Claims Examiner - Bodily Injury to join a team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in handling commercial auto claims, including bodily injury and litigated claims, and will be adept at managing claims from start to finish.

Compensation Package

  • Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 per year

Responsibilities

As a Commercial Auto Claims Examiner, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Investigating and resolving first and third-party commercial auto claims, including bodily injury (BI) and uninsured/underinsured motorist bodily injury (UMBI/UIMBI) claims.
  • Handling claims involving attorney representation, both non-litigated and litigated.
  • Managing a caseload of approximately 150 features (100 claims) from across the United States.
  • Conducting thorough investigations, including obtaining and reviewing estimates, evidence, reports, and medical records.
  • Evaluating injury demands and negotiating settlements.
  • Handling various types of claims, including total loss, fire, theft, glass, and cargo claims.
  • Establishing damages and reserves, processing payments, and maintaining claim files in accordance with best practices.
  • Taking recorded statements from insureds, claimants, and witnesses.
  • Obtaining and maintaining all required state adjuster licenses.

Qualifications/Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required (J.D. preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling commercial auto claims.
    • At least 1 year of experience handling bodily injury and litigated claims.
    • Proven experience managing claims involving attorney representation.
    • Familiarity with first-party and third-party claims.
  • Licensing:
    • Must possess a home state adjuster license.
    • Ability to obtain Texas and Florida adjuster licenses (costs covered by the company).
  • Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in investigating coverage and drafting coverage letters.
    • Experience presenting files in roundtable discussions.
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
