Data plays a critical role in helping Tennis Australia achieve this mission. From understanding participation trends and improving customer experiences, to enabling smarter decisions and measuring organisational impact, data and insights help ensure Tennis Australia can make the greatest possible contribution to the sport and the communities it serves.
Tennis Australia has recently implemented a modern enterprise data platform, creating a strong foundation for data-driven decision-making across the organisation. As we move from platform implementation to value realisation, the focus is on expanding analytics capabilities, accelerating access to trusted insights and embedding data into decision-making across Tennis Australia.
The Head of Data Analytics & Insights leads Tennis Australia's enterprise analytics capability, transforming data into actionable insights that drive participation growth, enhance fan engagement, improve operational performance and support strategic decision-making across the organisation.
Reporting to the Director of Data & AI, the role is accountable for partnering with business leaders to identify high-value opportunities, prioritise analytics investment and ensure data-driven initiatives deliver measurable organisational outcomes. Leading a central team of analytics, insights and governance specialists, the role acts as a trusted advisor to executives and senior stakeholders while building the capabilities required to embed data-driven decision-making across Tennis Australia.
In this role, you will:
1. Drive Enterprise Analytics Value
- Lead Tennis Australia's enterprise analytics and insights function, ensuring data is translated into actionable insights that improve business outcomes.
- Partner with senior leaders across the organisation to identify, prioritise and deliver the highest-value analytics opportunities.
- Manage and prioritise the enterprise analytics portfolio, balancing strategic initiatives, stakeholder demand and organisational value.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executives, using data and insights to support strategic decision-making and organisational performance.
- Establish measures of success, champion experiment design and demonstrate the value delivered through analytics investments.
- Champion a culture where data is embedded in decision-making across the organisation.
2. Build Analytics Capability & Accelerate Data Democratisation
- Define and execute the enterprise analytics roadmap aligned with Tennis Australia's strategic priorities and Data & AI strategy.
- Develop modern analytics capabilities that improve access to trusted data and insights across the organisation.
- Drive adoption of self-service analytics, AI-enabled insights and reusable data products that accelerate decision-making and reduce delivery bottlenecks.
- Partner with Data & Technology teams to continuously improve data quality, platform capabilities and analytics delivery.
- Establish standards and governance practices that enable trusted, scalable and sustainable use of data.
3. Lead, Develop & Inspire People
- Build and lead a high-performing analytics and insights team focused on collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Create opportunities for team members to expand their skills, experiences and organisational impact.
- Foster an inclusive and psychologically safe culture where constructive challenge, learning and growth are encouraged.
- Lead through change and model curiosity, adaptability and continuous learning.
- Champion modern analytics, self-service reporting and emerging AI capabilities.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team that enables smarter, faster decisions across Tennis Australia.

Essential Experience
- 10+ years' experience in analytics, insights, business intelligence or data-related leadership roles.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and executives to influence priorities, solve business problems and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise analytics or insights teams within a complex organisation.
- Experience balancing strategic planning with delivery execution across multiple stakeholder groups.
- Strong ability to communicate complex analytical concepts in a way that drives understanding, engagement and action.
- Experience developing, mentoring and leading high-performing teams through growth and change.
- Strong understanding of modern analytics, data platforms and governance practices, with the ability to translate technical capability into business value.
Highly Regarded
- Experience leading analytics functions following a major data platform or business transformation.
- Experience with cloud-based analytics platforms such as Azure and Databricks.
- Exposure to advanced analytics, AI, machine learning or data product delivery.
- Experience within sport, entertainment, membership, customer or event-based organisations.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
Desirable
- Postgraduate qualifications in Analytics, Data, Business, Technology or a related field.
- Certifications in cloud, analytics or data platforms (e.g. Microsoft Azure, Databricks).
- Leadership, coaching or people development qualifications.
