Job Description
As a Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Operations in Reading, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an unarmed Security Officer at a retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for customers and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity. Pay Rate: $19.96 / Hour
Age Requirement:
- All candidates must be at least 21 years of age (C101) at the time of application. This requirement is in place to ensure compliance with legal regulations and to maintain a safe and responsible work environment.
Security Experience:
- Candidates must possess a minimum of 6 months of relevant security experience (C112). This experience should be documented and verifiable, demonstrating the candidate's capability to perform the duties required for the position.

- Provide customer service to clients, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
- Respond to incidents, customer concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout the retail sales area, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or hazards.
- Monitor access points and observe customer and employee activity to help support loss-prevention efforts and maintain orderly operations.
- Complete required activity logs, incident reports, and other documentation in accordance with site procedures and Allied Universal requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have at least 6 months of security-related experience.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
