The Strategic Business Partner for Product Finance, Performance, Analytics serves as a trusted partner to the Residential Product organization, combining product, customer, market, and financial analysis to support better business decisions and create a more profitable Residential business. Supporting the Residential Carpet, Hard Surface, and Totalworx teams, this role will evaluate performance across a large and complex product portfolio, identify growth and profitability opportunities, and work directly with product leaders to translate insights into action. While the position reports through Finance and includes budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, its primary focus is helping product leaders understand business performance, evaluate opportunities, and make informed product and portfolio decisions.  This role will work in a hybrid way from our Dalton, Georgia corporate offices.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to Residential Product leaders, using product, customer, market, operational, and financial insights to identify opportunities and recommend actions that improve growth, margin, profitability, and portfolio performance.

  • Analyze product-line and category performance across revenue, volume, price and mix, cost, margin, profitability, and other relevant KPIs to explain performance drivers, identify risks and opportunities, and guide decision-making.

  • Evaluate performance by customer, channel, product, SKU, and geography to identify areas of growth or decline, customer and product whitespace, cross-sell opportunities, and potential resource-allocation actions.

  • Analyze lost business and product displacement trends, quantify the financial impact, and partner with product and business leaders to develop targeted recovery strategies.

  • Develop a strong understanding of the Residential product portfolio and its market dynamics, including the different economic and operating models associated with domestically manufactured and internationally sourced products.

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve meaningful product and portfolio KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and automated reporting that provide a timely and trusted view of business performance.

  • Partner with product leaders to prepare integrated product and financial perspectives for monthly business reviews with the Residential Leadership Team, the Executive Vice President of the Residential Business, and other key stakeholders.

  • Coordinate annual and quarterly budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned product portfolios and the Residential Marketing group, connecting product strategies, market dynamics, and business assumptions to financial outcomes.

  • Build financial models and business cases for new products and markets, pricing and portfolio decisions, growth initiatives, investments, potential acquisitions, and other divisional projects.

  • Use Shaw data systems and analytical tools, including Power BI, to query, combine, validate, and analyze large and disparate product, customer, market, operational, and financial data sets and translate findings into clear recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of professional experience in product, business, financial, operational, or commercial analytics, including experience translating analysis into recommendations for business partners.

  • Strong understanding of product, customer, sales, volume, price and mix, cost, margin, and profitability analysis, with the financial acumen to connect business drivers to financial results.

  • Advanced proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, visualization tools, report writers, and other analytical tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to query, combine, validate, and analyze large data sets from disparate sources using platforms such as SQL, Business Objects, SSAS, CAMS, or comparable tools.

  • Ability to develop meaningful KPIs, scorecards, dashboards, and decision-oriented reporting that measure product and portfolio performance.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including intellectual curiosity and the ability to move beyond reporting what happened to explaining why it happened and what actions should be taken.

  • Strong business-partnering and communication skills, including the confidence to ask challenging questions, form a point of view, facilitate productive discussion, and influence decisions through data and financial perspective.

  • Ability to interpret complex information and communicate clear, practical recommendations to product leaders, finance partners, and senior leadership.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage competing priorities, protect confidential information, and respond effectively within a changing business environment.

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting product management, product development, portfolio management, financial planning and analysis, business-unit performance, or related decision-making in a complex product-based organization.

  • Experience working with a large, SKU-intensive portfolio within flooring, building materials, consumer durables, manufacturing, or another business that includes manufactured and sourced products.

  • Experience analyzing product costs and understanding the underlying drivers of cost, margin, and profitability.

  • Experience using customer, product, market, and financial data to identify growth opportunities and guide product or portfolio decisions.

  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Google Suite, and other business intelligence or data-visualization platforms.

  • Familiarity with customer and channel dynamics across retail, national accounts, dealers, distributors, builders, or other multichannel business models.
