About us:

As part of the PMO (Project Management Office) team, you would be supporting the business to ensure that Airbus Project Management standards and operating practices are maintained and clearly defined across the entire project lifecycle, with a particular focus on Project Management processes in the following domains: 

• Project governance and communication;

• Integrated planning;

• Risk and opportunity management;

• Preparation of reviews;

• Internal and external reporting;

• Project Management data.

This role sits within the Earth Observation, Science and Exploration part of the business which is involved in some of the most unique space missions in the world: from measuring wind speeds from space using lasers, supporting missions to other planets, building rovers for Mars and building instruments for space telescopes. 

What you will be doing:

Depending on the project you are working on, you will be able to develop a wide range of skills:

• Communication;

• Time management and prioritisation;

• Stakeholder management;

• Reporting.

You will gain familiarity with a mixture of tools that support the PMO environment and you will be exposed to projects in different stages of their lifecycle to understand what is required from PMO at each stage.

Projects generally operate on a monthly reporting cycle so a ‘typical day’ may include supporting a control board on risk or schedule; preparing supporting material for management reviews and attending project meetings with external customers.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:

• Currently studying towards a degree in Business Management or related subject; 

• An understanding of Project Management methodologies;

• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel;

• Proficiency in the use of Google software;

• Experience of using databases and analysing data is a plus;

• Good written and verbal communication skills;

• Good organisational skills and detail orientated.

This Job Request will be allocated to the projected Joint-Venture scope towards a leading European player in space.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: You will be subject to a BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard) check. You may also need to gain UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control, depending on the role.
