Manager, Project Management Office

Position Summary:

The Manager, Project Management Office is responsible for onboarding, coaching, and leading a team of strong professional project managers. They are accountable for a high-risk key strategic portfolio. The incumbent will work with internal and external stakeholders managing all aspects of enterprise-wide and cross-functional portfolio. The Manager, Project Management Office is responsible for the governance, standards, and continuous improvement of Project Management. The incumbent works with the Director, Strategic Change Office to grow the project management lifecycle and skills while instilling Project Management as a core competency through the organization.  

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Manage the capacity and capabilities of the Project Management Office and supporting the Director, Strategic Change Office with its portfolios.
• Ensure that project requests are evaluated and documented according to project management standards and that project requests are presented to Management for approval and prioritization
• Ensure that project managers collaborate with project stakeholders to develop project management plans, according to project management standards, including definition of scope definition and key performance indicators, stakeholder analysis, alternatives and vendor analysis, cost analysis and development of budget, development of project schedule and resource allocation, and risk analysis
• Lead, define, and manage multiple time and resource constrained, large stakeholder cross-functional projects.
• Lead in the team for Project Management evolution to incorporate agile and hybrid practices into the project management methodology and lifecycle by remaining current in industry practices.
• Collaborate with business leaders, individual contributors, and a variety of stakeholders to ensure proper scope, resource allocation and dependencies are being addressed on time and within budget.
• Supports Project Management as an Enterprise core competency through project leadership by mentoring, coaching, and training other project managers.
• Manages project reporting on efficiency and deliverables over a large portfolio.
• Align stakeholders experience with the Project Management Office with consistent delivery by creating improved processes, practices, documentation and surveys.

• Assume additional responsibilities as necessary for the continued growth and advancement of the Credit Union.

• Demonstrated Change Management and Change Leadership Skills
• Executive Presence and communication skills required to interface with Senior Leadership and Vendor Partner Executives
• Knowledge of how to utilize adaptable project methodologies and realignment practices.
• Excellent leadership, project management, coaching, and time management skills.
• Experience in cost control and budgeting.
• Ability to lead multiple large projects simultaneously, dealing with intangibles with an innovative mindset.
• Ability to adapt to required leadership styles during cycles of the project lifecycle.
• Strong analytical skills, problem-solving skills, and business acumen.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifical Excel and MS Teams, Word, PowerPoint and project management systems.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.  
• 4 + years’ experience in managing projects including using an establish project management process (Agile or Hybrid preferred)
• 2+ years’ experience leading teams, projects, or cross-functional initiatives in a project or program management environment.
• PMP certification preferred
• Able to work outside hours in peak phases of the project when required
