Senior Data Analyst

About the role

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for developing reporting, dashboard and analytical solutions that enable Product Development teams and leadership to make informed decisions. Working closely with Product Development stakeholders, Data Engineering, Portfolio Systems and analytics colleagues, the role transforms business data into meaningful reporting, analysis and insight that support governance, operational performance and strategic decision-making.

The role contributes to the continuous improvement of Product Development reporting, analytics and insight capabilities through high-quality reporting, analytical rigour and stakeholder-focused decision support.

Accountabilities

Reporting & Dashboard Development

• Develop and maintain reporting, dashboard and analytical solutions supporting Product Development governance, planning and decision-making.
• Create reporting outputs, performance measures and management information aligned to business requirements.
• Support implementation of reporting standards, KPI definitions and measurement approaches.
• Ensure reporting outputs remain accurate, trusted and relevant to stakeholder needs.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting capabilities and services.

Data Analysis & Insight Generation

• Analyse data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and performance improvement actions.
• Translate analytical findings into practical recommendations and stakeholder insights.
• Support production of executive reporting content, management information and business performance reporting.
• Contribute to scenario analysis, forecasting and predictive analytics activities where appropriate.
• Present analytical findings in a clear and accessible manner.

KPI & Performance Reporting

• Maintain and develop KPI reporting and performance measurement solutions.
• Validate reporting outputs, calculations and data accuracy.
• Support monitoring of portfolio, delivery, resource and organisational performance metrics.
• Assist development of governance reporting and leadership reporting outputs.
• Support adoption and effective use of reporting and dashboard capabilities.

Analytical Quality & Data Assurance

• Apply analytical methods, reporting standards and quality assurance practices across reporting outputs.
• Work closely with Data Engineering & Information Architecture teams to ensure reporting data is accurate and suitable for analytical use.
• Support validation of reporting requirements, calculations and assumptions.
• Identify and resolve data quality issues affecting reporting and analytics.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical processes and reporting approaches.

Stakeholder Support & Business Partnership

• Build effective relationships across Product Development, DDIO, Portfolio Systems, Data Engineering and associated business functions.
• Support stakeholder reporting, analytics and insight requirements.
• Gather reporting requirements and feedback from users and stakeholders.
• Communicate analytical findings, risks and opportunities clearly and effectively.
• Promote adoption and effective use of reporting and analytical capabilities.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Development

• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analytics and insight capabilities.
• Support implementation of new reporting solutions, dashboards and analytical products.
• Contribute to standardisation, consistency and reuse across reporting and analytical activities.
• Maintain awareness of emerging reporting, analytical and visualisation approaches.
• Share knowledge and best practice across the analytics community.

About you

Professional experience

• Experience in data analysis, reporting, business intelligence or analytical roles.
• Experience developing dashboards, KPI reporting and management information solutions.
• Experience analysing large and complex datasets to support business decision-making.
• Experience using reporting, visualisation and business intelligence technologies.
• Experience supporting governance, planning, portfolio management or operational reporting activities.
• Experience producing executive reporting, performance reporting or analytical outputs.
• Understanding of Product Development, Portfolio Management, Resource Management or Engineering environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement capability.
