FP&A Analyst

Location: Tysons Corner, VA

 

As a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst at Integral Federal, you will support company growth and optimal financial outcomes. The FP&A Analyst plays an important part in the company’s short-term and long-term forecasting, budgeting, and reporting. This is a visible role for a self-motivated individual where you will collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

 

This role is based in the company’s McLean, VA office Monday–Thursday, with Friday as a telework day.

Responsibilities

• Performance Measurement – Participate in the design and tracking of key performance indicators, creating budget vs. actual analyses, financial statement analysis, operating expense analysis, identifying trends/business drivers, and internal benchmarking.
• Financial Reporting – Create ongoing management reporting for executives, the Board of Directors, and internal stakeholders; assemble and summarize data to structure sophisticated reports on financial status and risks, ascertain the impact on forward-looking projections, and effectively communicate these findings to senior leadership.
• Budgeting/Forecasting/Planning – Provide analytical and business support including financial statement analysis, gross margin analysis, business performance commentary, forecasting, trend identification, and strategic planning.
• Indirect Rates & Compliance – Develop, monitor, and forecast indirect rates (fringe, overhead, and G&A); support incurred cost submissions and provisional billing rate analysis; and review cost allowability under FAR Part 31 and CAS.
• Pricing Support – Partner with Contracts and Business Development to provide rate and cost inputs for proposals, ensuring alignment with the annual budget.
• Month-End Close & Variance Analysis – Support the month-end close, analyze variances to budget and forecast, and explain key drivers to leadership.
• Ad Hoc Analysis – Prepare ad hoc financial analyses and scenario models to support executive decision-making.
• Process Improvement – Identify opportunities to streamline FP&A processes and reporting, including better use of Costpoint and/or Unanet functionality.

Qualifications

Required:

 

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of progressive finance experience at a government contracting organization.
• Advanced Excel skills, with experience building dynamic financial and operational models.
• Ability to work with large datasets, evaluate financial data, and identify business trends.
• Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) as they pertain to indirect rate structures and cost allowability.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to senior leadership.

 

Preferred:

 

• Advanced experience with Costpoint and/or Unanet.
• Advanced proficiency in Power BI, including DAX, for building financial dashboards and reports.
• Experience using Power Query to automate data extraction, cleansing, and transformation.
• Experience using generative AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate financial analysis, modeling, forecasting, and reporting.
• Sound judgment in validating AI-generated outputs for accuracy and in safeguarding sensitive and proprietary financial data when using AI tools.

 

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

 

The above salary range represents a general guideline. Integral Federal considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.

 

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and/or discretionary bonuses in addition to base pay.
