About Brighte
Our mission is to make consumer energy resources (CER) affordable and accessible for everyone.
Brighte is building the platform to enable and accelerate the energy transition by making it affordable, easy and less risky to buy and sell energy equipment.
Our founder and CEO, Katherine McConnell, has been awarded Telstra Businesswoman of the Year in 2020 as well as winning the Sustainability Crusader award at B&T's 2023 Women Leading Tech Awards. She is a passionate and humble leader who has a human-first approach to business.
As a business in 2025, we have been named an AFR Sustainability Leader within the Banking and Finance category, and won the inaugural Sustainability Award at the Affies in 2024!
About the Role
This role plays a key part in protecting and growing Brighte's vendor network. You'll assess new vendor applications, monitor ongoing risk and compliance, and partner with Sales, Credit Policy, and Risk teams to make smart, commercially balanced decisions. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives on sound judgement, stakeholder engagement, and getting things done.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end accreditation process, assessing new vendor applications and making commercial decisions that balance growth opportunities with risk.
- Investigate and analyse vendor credentials, reviewing credit data, licences, references, capabilities, and supporting documentation to determine suitability.
- Be a trusted risk advisor, providing clear recommendations on accreditation outcomes and partnering with senior stakeholders on complex cases.
- Monitor and manage vendor risk, identifying emerging issues, adverse trends, compliance concerns, and opportunities to strengthen portfolio quality.
- Build strong relationships with vendors and internal teams, guiding applicants through accreditation, resolving queries, and delivering exceptional service.
- Partner across Sales, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Credit Policy, helping drive timely decisions while maintaining strong governance standards.
- Help shape and improve our vendor risk framework, contributing to process enhancements, reporting, controls, and scalable operational practices.
What You'll Bring
- ~2 to 3 years in credit assessment, credit operations, or a vendor or merchant risk function within a financial institution or fintech
- End-to-end accreditation or credit assessment experience, including document verification, credit bureau analysis, and risk flag identification
- Experience with vendor monitoring, milestone reviews, and escalating conduct or compliance concerns
- Comfortable conducting outbound calls and managing direct vendor engagement as part of day-to-day operations
- Working knowledge of Australian credit risk principles and responsible lending obligations in a regulated environment
- Effective stakeholder management across Operations, Credit Policy, Risk and Compliance, and Sales
- Organised and self-directed, with sound analytical judgement and strong written and verbal communication skills

Our Hiring Process — what to expect?
At Brighte, we use AI every day, and we hire people who do too. We're looking for people who have lived or are living the AI transformation and will bring that thinking to how they work. That's why all roles include an assessment designed to see how you put AI to work. There's no right tool (we use Claude, but you can use whatever you're most comfortable with), and there's no trick to it — we want to see how you think. We'll talk about this in more detail if you're invited to a phone screen with our Talent team.
Towards the end of our hiring process, we require all candidates to undertake references and background checks, which include a police check, anti-money laundering and bankruptcy checks.
