Help Keep JF&CS Spaces Safe, Welcoming, and Ready for Service
Jewish Family & Career Services of Atlanta (JF&CS) is seeking a dependable, hands-on Facilities Coordinator to support the day-to-day needs of the agency’s Operations and Facilities teams. This role helps ensure that JF&CS spaces are safe, functional, organized, and welcoming for staff, programs, clients, volunteers, vendors, and visitors.
With a 125-year history of supporting individuals and families of all faiths, JF&CS is a trusted community resource. The Facilities Coordinator plays an important role in helping maintain the physical spaces and operational systems that allow staff and programs to serve the Atlanta community well.
The north star for this role is simple: make it easier for JF&CS staff and programs to do their work by keeping facilities responsive, prepared, secure, and running smoothly.
The Role at a Glance
- Reports to the Facilities Manager
- Supports agency-wide facilities, operations, safety, and space-readiness needs
- Helps open and inspect the Dunwoody campus as needed
- Coordinates with staff, vendors, contractors, security personnel, and other partners
- Provides hands-on support for facility maintenance, office moves, meeting setup, emergency preparedness, and vendor access
- Full-time role based at the Dunwoody campus, with support across JF&CS commercial properties as needed
This is a practical, service-oriented role for someone who enjoys solving problems, staying organized, working with many different people, and helping a busy campus function well. Some days you may be preparing offices, setting up meeting spaces, meeting contractors, or responding to facility requests. Other days you may be supporting emergency preparedness, assisting with onboarding, coordinating vendor service calls, or helping cover the receptionist desk when needed.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Facilities Support & Maintenance
- Open the Dunwoody campus as needed by walking the property and checking common areas and entry points for issues
- Prepare offices and workspaces for staff moves
- Complete basic facilities work such as painting, light bulb changes, furniture and equipment moves, and basic carpentry
- Assess facility issues and help determine when outside support or repair services are needed
- Set up tables and chairs for in-person meetings and shared meeting spaces
- Address facility tasks and respond to staff and program needs in a timely, service-minded way
Vendor, Security & Operations Coordination
- Meet contractors and provide access to areas needing service
- Support Facilities with coordination of vendor service calls
- Coordinate with security guards or off-duty officers when needed, including reviewing the Dunwoody campus and providing access badges
- Assist with access to areas such as ceilings or building roofs, including use of ladders when appropriate
- Assume responsibility for additional facilities and operations projects as requested
Safety, Onboarding & Front Desk Support
- Assist with new-hire onboarding by explaining the emergency response plan, access badge responsibilities, and photo badge processes for programs that require them
- Conduct annual fire drills and monthly reviews of fire extinguishers and other emergency devices across commercial properties
- Fill in at the receptionist desk during short-staffed periods, including answering phones and directing callers
- Help maintain a responsive, professional, and welcoming environment for staff, clients, vendors, and visitors
Requirements

- Organized, detail-focused, and able to manage multiple requests and deadlines
- A strong communicator who can work professionally with staff, vendors, contractors, partners, donors, and visitors
- Flexible, responsive, and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Committed to maintaining safe, welcoming, and well-functioning spaces
You have:
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on tasks successfully
- Ability to collaborate with other departments, partners, donors, vendors, and stakeholders
- Good computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new systems
- Comfort learning and supporting photo badge processes
- Ability to work in a busy environment with multiple staff, client, and visitor needs
You bring:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Experience in customer service or another service-oriented role
- Facilities experience or related hands-on physical labor experience
- Familiarity with handy-person repairs and general construction knowledge
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and perform physical work such as moving furniture and equipment, packing and moving boxes, standing, walking, reaching, and using ladders as needed
