Job Title:          Claims Adjuster – Property D&F and Treaty Lines

Location:         St Botolph Building, City of London

Position type:  35 hrs p/w (3 days in the office, 2 days home)

Job Purpose:

The successful individual will be joining a highly motivated claims team working on Property D&F and Treaty lines, which include Property Risk & Cat, Engineering and other specialty lines of business, written in worldwide territories.

The role is to ensure that claims are reviewed and settled in a timely and equitable manner, whilst constantly striving to develop and improve service and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Regularly meeting with Underwriters to provide feedback with regards to the structure of their claims issues and related risk information with the goal to improve the overall standard of underwriting in the company
• Internal liaison with Actuarial, Ceded Reinsurance, Finance and Operations
• External liaison with Brokers, market leaders and retained experts
• Acting within an agreed claims handling authority across a varied portfolio of claims and upholding the departmental objectives
• Receiving and acting upon first notifications, updates, determining coverage and agreeing valid claims
• Handling claims electronically via ECF writeback and engaging in market meetings and conference calls when necessary
• To be actively present at market meetings and conference calls when relevant and necessary
• Ensuring customers are treated fairly at all times
• Practice and promote Tokio Marine HCC's Claims Value Proposition, to both internal and external contacts alike
• Adhering to Lloyd's Minimum Standards
• Undertake other ancillary work including static claims, diary management and other project work as and when required
• Take a leading role in other ad hoc activities that may be required

Skills and Experience Specification:

Essential:       

• Experience in handling of Property (Direct and Reinsurance) claims across multiple lines of business and territories.
• 3+ years experience in the London Market       
• An excellent knowledge of ECF and the Lloyd’s Claims Schemes
• Excellent Interpersonal skills are required as the duties of this role involves liaising with outsourcing partners, negotiation and liaising with brokers, loss adjusters and lawyers.
• Enthusiastic and possess good technical knowledge with a willingness to learn and work together with the wider team to maintain excellent service levels.
• Ability to work pro-actively with good organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal 

Desirable:

• Qualified or studying towards ACII qualification
