Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Auditor Digital / IT to join the Ayvens dedicated Internal Audit team in Amsterdam. You understand the challenges of maintaining a secure, reliable and well‑controlled IT environment while supporting large‑scale digital transformation initiatives. Equally important, you are able to translate these challenges into a robust, risk‑based audit approach and provide clear, relevant insights to management.

You will contribute independent assurance on technology risks across the Ayvens Group, covering head office, support functions, leasing entities and, where relevant, external service providers.

The Ayvens audit team operates within Société Générale’s Inspection and Audit Division (IGAD). You will work in an international, multi-location environment and help assess whether governance, risk management and internal controls effectively address the challenges created by technology, cybersecurity and business transformation.

This role offers broad exposure to Ayvens businesses and technology environments. You will continue to develop your expertise in a stimulating culture of continuous improvement, using innovative audit approaches and tools such as data analytics and AI-enabled techniques.

Objectives of the role

As an experienced Auditor Digital / IT, you will participate in audit assignments designed to assess technology risks and the effectiveness of the internal control framework. You will be involved in all phases of the engagement, from preparation and fieldwork to reporting and follow-up.

• Gather relevant information in a confidential context while complying with professional ethics, integrity and independence requirements.
• Support the Head of Mission in planning, preparing and executing audit assignments in accordance with IGAD and IIA standards.
• Conduct interviews, walkthroughs, control assessments and substantive testing, including data analytics where relevant.
• Assess IT risks and controls, identify root causes and translate weaknesses into clear, fact-based and actionable audit findings.
• Define improvement opportunities and formulate pragmatic recommendations with accountable stakeholders.
• Contribute to clear, balanced audit reports and communicate conclusions effectively to different levels of management.
• Follow up the timely and rigorous remediation of audit findings, identify delays and escalate material issues appropriately.
• Organise your work autonomously to achieve assignment objectives within agreed timelines and quality standards.
• Maintain constructive, independent and diplomatic relationships with auditees and other stakeholders.
• Share knowledge and provide practical support to less experienced colleagues during assignments.
• Promote innovation in audit methods, tools and technology, including data analytics and artificial intelligence.

• Contributing to transversal responsibilities within the Audit Department, such as analysing emerging risks, maintaining audit work programmes and strengthening stakeholder management.

You may work on a broad and diverse range of topics, including:

• IT strategy, governance and alignment with business objectives;
• Information and cybersecurity, data protection and technology-related fraud risks;
• IT service continuity, operational resilience and disaster recovery;
• Large-scale transformation programmes and project governance;
• Software development lifecycle, Agile at scale and application controls;
• IT production, infrastructure and service management;
• Cloud environments, outsourcing, offshoring and third-party technology risk;
• Enterprise architecture, software architecture and information-system urbanisation;
• Artificial intelligence systems, including LLM, RAG and agent-based architectures.

Skills & experience
To succeed in this role, you combine sound technology experience with a practical, methodical and independent mindset. You are curious, analytical and able to place technical observations in their wider business and risk context.

Professional experience

You have relevant experience in at least two of the following areas:

• IT strategy and organisation, including governance and associated risk management;
• Technology transformation and information-system change projects;
• Software architecture and enterprise architecture;
• Business analysis, functional design and testing, or software engineering using technologies such as .NET, C#, Java or COBOL;
• Outsourcing and offshoring, including management of offshore teams or externally provided IT services.

Experience in internal or external audit is valued. Functional knowledge of financial services, including retail banking, investment banking, asset management or private banking, would be an advantage. Knowledge of the vehicle leasing and mobility-services sector is also beneficial.

Knowledge of Data / AI and machine-learning technologies is an asset. You should be able to:

• Understand the core principles of AI architectures, including large language models, retrieval-augmented generation and AI agents;
• Identify key risks such as bias, hallucination, confidentiality, security, model drift and inadequate governance.

Education, certifications and personal capabilities

• A university degree, preferably at Master’s level, in information technology, information systems, cybersecurity, engineering, audit or a related field;
• At least four years of relevant hands-on experience in technology, internal audit, external audit, risk management or a closely related field;
• A professional audit or security qualification, or progress towards one, such as CISA, CISSP, CISM or an equivalent certification, is an advantage;
• Experience with data analytics techniques and tools is considered prerequisite;
• Strong analytical and synthesis skills, professional judgement and a critical mindset;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and diplomatically with different levels of management;
• Professional fluency in English, international experience is an advantage;
• Ability to manage priorities and deadlines, work with appropriate autonomy and contribute positively to a multicultural team;
• High standards of integrity, discretion, objectivity and confidentiality;
• Willingness to travel internationally to Ayvens entities, in principle up to 25% depending on the audit plan.
