Description

The City of Savage is seeking seasonal Warming House Attendants to support the operation of local skating rinks. Warming House Attendants will help ensure facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming while providing friendly service to skaters and visitors.

The Winter season runs from December 21, 2026 to February 20, 2027.
10-25 hours/week - evenings, weekends, & occasional holidays

Anticipated Hiring Range: $17.51/hour - $18.94/hour
Full 2026 Pay Range: $17.51/hour - $23.06/hour
  • Open and close facility during the hours of operations.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Provide overall supervision of the skaters; ensuring health and safety precautions are met.
  • Follow and promote established safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain all equipment and supplies.
  • Shovel snow around warming house and off of the skating surface.
  • Keep ice clear of debris and pick up trash in and around the building.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all accidents, incidents, complaints, and participation.
  • Work cooperatively with other departments in the maintenance and operation of the local skating rinks.
  • Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • Knowledge of basic facility operations, maintenance, and safety practices.
  • Skill in providing friendly customer service and communicating effectively with the public.
  • Ability to monitor skaters and respond appropriately to safety concerns or emergencies.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to perform basic facility maintenance and safely use common equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming facility.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be at least 16 years old by December 21, 2026.
  • Current high school student or graduate.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid driver’s license (travel may be required between parks).

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a recreation, sports, customer service, or facility operations setting.
  • Experience with custodial, maintenance, or facility operations.
  • CPR/First Aid certification.
