Join the LT Foods Americas team as a Sanitation Technician and play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and food-safe warehouse environment. Reporting to the Quality & Food Safety Manager, you’ll help ensure our facility and equipment meet sanitation, food safety, and GMP standards.
This position requires flexibility to work in two of our nearby facilities, located directly across the street from each other, as business needs require, as well as occasional weekend work when needed.

Role Summary
The Sanitation Technician supports the Quality and Food Safety Department and maintains the cleanliness and sanitation of a dry food processing facility, including the production department and warehouse. This position reports directly to the Quality and Food Safety Manager and is responsible for following established sanitation procedures, food safety requirements, and the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning of the dry food processing facility and warehouse, including methods such as vacuuming, compressed air, dry brushing, dusting, and sweeping. This may include emptying buckets of rice from the X-ray machine.
- Responsible for following the Master Sanitation Schedule and documenting areas that have been cleaned.
- Daily collection and disposal of all waste in production and the warehouse, outside yard, employee lunchrooms, bathrooms, lockers, and front and back offices.
- May regularly clean the warehouse floor with a scrubbing machine, as assigned.
- May weekly sweep and mop the white perimeter line of the warehouse.
- May process and prepare bulk recyclables (plastic and cardboard), which includes cutting down cardboard, operating the baler machine (compressing machine), and strapping bulk compressed material.
- Maintain inventory and storage of janitorial supplies.
- Immediately report safety hazards and violations to the Quality and Food Safety Manager or appropriate member of management.
- May be required to occasionally operate a Scissor Lift with adequate Fall Protection to clean external surfaces on the silos, if certified and assigned.
- May be required to occasionally operate a Powered Industrial Truck such as a Walkie Stacker, Electric Sit-Down Forklift, or Electric Pallet Jack to maneuver bulk trash, if certified and assigned (generally less than 10% of the time).
- Accountable to learn, comply, and lead by example with respect to all food facility Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and People Health and Safety requirements.
- Able to use and store common household chemicals properly.
- Responds promptly to help with immediate needs and takes initiative on assigned duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Quality and Food Safety Manager or other authorized member of management.
- Ensures that products manufactured and shipped meet all relevant Quality and Food Safety requirements and specifications, and enthusiastically participates in and supports the Company's food safety culture
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to complete simple records.
- Ability to operate floor scrubbing/sweeper equipment.
- Ability to work cooperatively as a team member.
- Able to maintain regular and punctual attendance and work occasional overtime on weekdays and/or weekends.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak in basic English.
- Willingness and ability to complete appropriate proficiency and safety training to operate powered industrial truck equipment, such as Scissor Lift, Electric Sit-Down Forklift, Electric Pallet Jack, and Walkie Stacker.
Desired Qualifications
- Some industrial-level experience in cleaning and sanitation.
- Prior experience or training/certifications on powered industrial equipment.
Physical / Mental Demands
- Frequent to continuous standing and walking.
- Occasional to frequent stooping, bending at the waist, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, use of fingers, and grasping.
- Able to lift to 50 pounds and to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Visual acuity required to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.).
- Able to complete assigned tasks within established timelines.
Work Environment: The worker is subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions may affect the respiratory system or skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
