About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer
In this role, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation scripts using UFT One and VBScript.
- Create reusable automation components, functions, libraries, object repositories, recovery scenarios, and data-driven frameworks.
- Automate critical business processes across web, desktop, packaged, and legacy applications.
- Review business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and manual test cases to identify suitable automation candidates.
- Develop automated smoke, sanity, functional, end-to-end, and regression test suites.
- Maintain existing UFT scripts by addressing application changes, object-identification issues, synchronization problems, test-data dependencies, and environment-related failures.
- Configure and execute UFT regression suites through batch runners and automated execution mechanisms.
- Analyze test results, distinguish application defects from automation failures, and perform root-cause analysis.
- Debug and resolve script failures involving object repositories, reusable actions, shared libraries, configuration files, database connectivity, and test data.
- Build parameterized and data-driven scripts that support execution across multiple test scenarios and environments.
- Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines and establish appropriate automated quality gates.
- Publish execution results and maintain traceability between requirements, test cases, automated scripts, and test outcomes.
- Collaborate with Product, Development, QE, UAT, Release Management, and business stakeholders to validate test scope and release readiness.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure automation scripts follow coding, documentation, version-control, and framework standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation coverage, execution stability, maintainability, and execution time.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other engineers on UFT framework usage, scripting standards, debugging, and test automation practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation covering framework setup, prerequisites, script execution, dependencies, and troubleshooting.
- Support infrastructure readiness, server configuration, tool access, and automation execution environments.
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering discipline
- Candidate can clearly demonstrate their implementation experience.
- Candidate can demonstrate that they have the capability to ramp up quickly without a lot of instruction, training, or hand-holding.
- Candidate can demonstrate that they possess a balance of technical skills with hands-on implementation experience
- Candidate can demonstrate that they have the soft skills to support a lack of detailed instruction or training.
- Iterative and Agile development methodology
Job Expectations:
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively both internally and externally.
- Broad and deep knowledge of test automation methodologies and frameworks across Engineering practices, IT infrastructures, platforms, tools, and technologies.
- Experienced in developing the automation frameworks (Web/Mobile).
- Experienced on working micros services automation.
- Experienced in quality engineering practices like Code review, Secure coding practices, Code Quality, Code Coverage, CI/CD.
- Experience into test automation with tools such as Selenium/Playwright/UFT.
- Deep understanding of Behavior Driven Development methodology.
- Strong test automation methodology knowledge with tools and one or more general purpose programming languages like JAVA, .NET , VBScript, JavaScript and Python.
- Continuously research and adopt new automation tools, techniques, and best practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Contribute to the overall improvement of software quality by participating in code reviews, design discussions, and process enhancements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software products.
- Communicate test results and status to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Extensive technical skills and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of enterprise quality engineering transformation journey.
- Prior experience implementing test automation solutions in a dynamic, complex, and scaled environment.
- Experience in Banking domain - (1 – 2 yrs) (preferably Lending)
- Ability to quickly understand the business process and map the application functions
- Excellent analytical & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Should be effective communicator
