Description
The Deputy Clerk performs general office duties and customer service for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3.
- Performs general office duties including data entry, answering phones, copying and filing.
- Deals with the public on a one-on-one basis.
- Secures monies and issues receipts.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks and maintain a positive attitude.
- Must be able to type accurately and have basic computer skills.
- Must be able to use 10-key calculator and multi-line telephone system.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, other offices, agencies and the general public.
- Knowledge of justice court rules, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of the law as it pertains to the Justice of the Peace Court.
- Bilingual Spanish / English is preferred.
High School diploma or G.E.D.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Daily sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, reaching and lifting of items possibly weighing 40 pounds or more.
