Chemours is seeking a Plant Manager to join our growing Chemours Thermal and Specialized Solutions team in El Dorado, Arkansas!

The Plant Manager is accountable for the overall performance of the manufacturing site and is responsible for leading and enabling the site organization to safely execute the operations strategy in support of business objectives and customer needs. This role serves as the senior site leader, with responsibility for driving operational excellence, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and long-term site sustainability. The successful candidate will leverage industry best practices, manufacturing expertise, financial acumen, and cross-functional collaboration (including Business, R&D, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Legal, and EHS) to solve complex challenges, create growth opportunities, and deliver superior business results.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Lead all aspects of site operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, technology, reliability, and supporting manufacturing functions.

• Ensure safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible operations while maintaining the site’s license to operate.

• Serve as the primary site representative with regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance with all applicable environmental, safety, transportation, and operating regulations while fostering a proactive compliance culture.

• Lead community engagement and public affairs activities, strengthening partnerships with local stakeholders, emergency response organizations, industry associations, government officials, and community leaders while promoting trust, transparency, and support for the site’s long-term success.

• Drive reliable production performance to achieve quality, volume, cost, and customer service objectives.

• Foster a safety-first, high-performance culture where employees are engaged, accountable, empowered, and focused on continuous improvement.

• Provide strategic leadership for workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and performance management.

• Own and continuously improve site performance across key metrics including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Reliability, Cost, Productivity, and Cash Generation.

• Lead the successful restart of critical manufacturing processes that positively impact business performance and growth.

• Identify and execute opportunities to increase production capacity, improve asset utilization, optimize costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.

• Lead plant turnarounds, maintenance strategies, and reliability improvement initiatives to maximize asset performance and operational sustainability.

• Ensure successful execution of capital projects, delivering results safely, on schedule, and within budget.

• Partner with business leadership to develop and execute site strategies that support long-term growth, competitiveness, and profitability objectives.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with employees, customers, community stakeholders, and cross-functional business partners.

• Develop and maintain a strong strategic partnership with the site landlord and neighboring operations to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective shared services, utilities, and infrastructure.

• Collaborate with the site landlord and shared-service providers to optimize resources, infrastructure, and operating costs.

• Lead site emergency preparedness and crisis management efforts, ensuring effective response capabilities and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

The following is required for this role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical Engineering preferred.

• 10+ years of manufacturing or operations experience within the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries, including leadership experience in high-hazard manufacturing environments.

• Proven success leading safe, compliant operations with extensive knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM), environmental regulations, occupational safety, and operational risk management.

• Demonstrated experience managing plant operations, operating budgets, capital expenditures, and cost performance, with a track record of delivering sustainable business results.

• Strong technical and operational knowledge of continuous manufacturing processes, with demonstrated success driving process optimization, reliability improvements, and operational excellence initiatives.

• Experience leading diverse organizations and developing high-performing teams through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.

• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and change leadership skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.

• Experience working effectively within global, matrixed organizations and partnering with engineering, maintenance, supply chain, commercial, R&D, finance, and corporate functions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MBA, M.S., or equivalent).

• Demonstrated experience leading successful turnarounds, startup/restart activities, major capital expansions, or transformational operational improvement programs.

• Experience applying Lean methodologies to maintenance processes and supporting the implementation of business systems

Pay Range (in local currency):

$141,120.00 - $220,500.00

Chemours Level:

28

Annual Bonus Target:

16%

Factors considered in extending a compensation offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, and alignment with market data. The incentive pay is dependent on business results and individual performance and subject to the terms and conditions of the specific plans.
