We're looking for several Mental Health Support Workers across the New England North West region to provide recovery-focused, community-based support to adults living with long-term mental health conditions who are not funded under the NDIS.

You'll work alongside people to build on their strengths, develop everyday skills, increase their independence and stay connected to the people and communities that matter to them.

Your opportunity

As our Mental Health Support Worker, you'll provide practical, person-centred support to people living with mental health and psychosocial needs within their own communities.

Working within a strengths-based and recovery-focused model, you'll partner with each person to understand what matters to them and support them to work towards their individual goals. You'll also collaborate with Anglicare teams and external service providers across New England North West to help create positive and sustainable outcomes.

With integrity and resilience, you will:

• Support individuals to work towards personal goals, strengthen wellbeing and build greater independence.

• Assist with daily living, social and recreational activities based on each person's individual needs and goals.

• Promote community access, social inclusion and meaningful participation.

• Provide practical assistance, advocacy and capacity-building support while working collaboratively with other services.

• Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to safe, consistent and high-quality service delivery.

What you'll bring

You're compassionate, practical and genuinely passionate about supporting people to live meaningful and independent lives.

You understand that recovery looks different for everyone and know how to build respectful relationships while encouraging choice, confidence and autonomy. You're comfortable working independently in the community while remaining connected to a broader multidisciplinary team.

You also share our organisational values of integrity, justice, compassion and excellence, embedding them in everything you do.

What's required:

• Certificate IV in Community Services or a related qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Experience supporting people living with mental health conditions or psychosocial needs.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a person-centred approach.

• Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to travel across regional locations as required.

• Ability to meet relevant probity requirements, including Police Check and Working with Children Check.

What's preferred:

• Experience delivering community-based mental health or psychosocial support.

• Understanding of strengths-based, recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.

• Knowledge of services and referral pathways across the New England North West region.
