Description
Role Overview
The Techno-Functional Consultant is a strategic, high-potential role on the PS team. Positioned as a potential pathway toward a Solution Architect or System Architect role, this position bridges the gap between business process engineering and technical system design.
You will split your time between active client delivery and practice innovation. On client projects, you will lead discovery sessions, map complex data flows, and design multi-system integrations. Internally, you will partner with leadership to test new delivery frameworks, capture reusable design patterns, and refine standards across our consulting practice.
Your onboarding and project assignments adjust dynamically based on your baseline strengths—whether you start with a stronger functional or technical background—ensuring a tailored path toward independent architecture practice.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Delivery & Systems Design (80% of Time)
- Integration & Ecosystem Architecture: Design multi-system data flows, API mappings, and iPaaS pipelines using platforms like Boomi or Workato to build resilient software landscapes.
- Requirements & Design Validation: Translate raw business needs into structured system designs, visual process models, and clear technical specifications. You make sure native platform features are fully used before proposing custom code.
- Consulting & Scope Alignment: Guide client stakeholders through complex decisions. You explain the real-world trade-offs between custom builds, third-party apps, and native software capabilities to keep project scope under control.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with functional consultants, developers, and senior architects on enterprise accounts, taking direct ownership of core integration blueprints and technical specifications.
2. Practice Enablement (20% of Time)
- Field Testing & Framework Validation: Act as an on-the-ground practitioner testing new delivery tools, process mapping templates, and discovery methods on active client accounts.
- Reference Assets & Knowledge Capture: Convert successful project designs into reusable integration patterns, technical templates, and reference architectures for the GURUS knowledge base.
Required Experience & Skills
- Professional Experience: 3 to 5+ years in technology consulting, systems analysis, business analysis, or multi-system integration delivery.
- Learning Agility: A proven track record of picking up new enterprise platforms, middleware tools, or technical frameworks quickly.
- Analysis & System Design: Strong competency in requirement elicitation, process mapping (BPMN 2.0, Sequence Diagram), decision mapping (DMN), data modeling, and mapping "as-is" to "to-be" architectures.
- Integration & Technical Literacy: Clear understanding of web services (REST/APIs, Webhooks), data structures (JSON/XML), and middleware concepts. Hands-on experience configuring iPaaS tools (e.g., Boomi, Workato, Celigo) or reading code logic is a major plus.
- ERP / Ecosystem Awareness: Exposure to enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, SAP, Epicor, or Workday. NetSuite experience is welcome, but fast learners with strong integration backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Languages: Fully bilingual in English and French (written and verbal).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
Core Attributes
- Decoupled Systems Thinking: You evaluate how changes in one system impact upstream and downstream applications across the full corporate landscape.
- Analytical Curiosity: You dig into the true "Why" behind client requests to solve underlying business challenges instead of applying quick technical patches.
- Consulting Presence: You communicate technical trade-offs, project risks, and scope boundaries clearly to non-technical business leaders.
- Proactive Builder: You enjoy creating templates, diagrams, and reference guides that elevate delivery standards for the broader team.
* This position requires proficiency in a language other than French due to the fact that 75% of our clients operate in English
