The Communications & Marketing Specialist will provide planning and execution support for the Graduate School's marketing and communications strategies. This position is responsible for overseeing projects including search marketing, social media, email marketing, recruitment plans, communication plans, video creation, content development, and copywriting. The individual will carry out many projects from start to finish, including writing content, building campaigns, monitoring, and reporting effectiveness. The specialist will hold project management duties including communicating deadlines, providing necessary content and project assets, and providing progress updates for each project. They will develop content appropriate for each unit audience and channel (web, email, print, social media, etc.), review materials for accuracy, cohesive voice, and ensure the content follows UofL’s brand standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Implement marketing and communication plans to promote Graduate School academic programs and graduate student recruitment through online and offline channels. Partner with academic units and programs to develop and implement recruitment and marketing plans aimed at achieving the University’s graduate enrollment goals. Fully employ the CRM power of Slate platform. (45%)
Execute marketing and communication plans to strategically promote programs, events, policies, and processes from the Graduate School with internal audiences through online and offline channels, collaborating with graduate school staff. Learn and understand the Graduate School, Graduate School population, its many audiences, and particular niche in higher education to support strong marketing and communication planning for the Graduate School. (25%)
Coordinate marketing projects by collaborating with team members, assigning tasks, and setting timelines for projects including advertising, social media, email marketing, copywriting, proofreading, graphic design, and website updates. (20%)
Conduct market research for programs (including proposed new programs), competitors, promotions opportunities, best practices and industry trends. Use campaign performance data, industry statistics and trends to evaluate return on investment (ROI) and work with Graduate School and unit staff to improve performance. Produce and share reports and insights with teams, leadership and partners. [10%]
Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of related experience Experience in developing and executing strategic marketing plans. Experience in marketing via web, social media, email campaigns, and Slate or similar CRM.Excellent strategic thinking, communication, copywriting and editing, project management, marketing and media strategy, and ability to work with various teams, stakeholders and partners/vendors. Experience with Google Ads, Analytics and/or Tag Manager. Video creation and editing using Adobe Cloud products are a plus, as is graphic design experience.

Target Compensation Maximum:
$72,389.00Target Compensation Minimum:
$48,225.00Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
