Description

Position Summary:

The Production Control Engineer supports the day-to-day operation, monitoring, and execution of the production environment. This role helps ensure critical production processing, scheduled jobs, workflows, deployments, and operational activities complete accurately and on time.

The engineer will monitor production health, identify and troubleshoot failures, coordinate recovery activities, and work across application, database, cloud, DevSecOps, security, and operations teams to maintain reliable services. The role supports the broader production model, which includes operational monitoring, incident/problem management, change and release management, root cause analysis, availability and performance management, and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and support daily production processing, scheduled jobs, workflows, interfaces, and operational activities.
  • Execute and monitor production schedules to ensure critical processing completes successfully and within required processing windows.
  • Identify failed, delayed, or abnormal production processes and coordinate troubleshooting, escalation, recovery, and restart activities.
  • Analyze application and system logs, monitoring alerts, job output, dashboards, and diagnostics to identify production issues.
  • Coordinate production incidents across application, database, AWS/cloud infrastructure, DevSecOps, security, and support teams.
  • Support production deployments, releases, maintenance activities, system restarts, rollback activities, and operational readiness.
  • Monitor production following releases and support HyperCare and post-deployment stabilization activities.
  • Maintain and improve production runbooks, operating procedures, schedules, checklists, escalation procedures, and recovery documentation.
  • Track recurring production issues and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Automate repetitive production checks, operational processes, reporting, and recovery activities where appropriate.
  • Provide clear production status and incident communications during critical processing periods.
  • Ensure effective shift turnover, operational handoffs, and knowledge transfer across the Production Control team.
  • Follow established incident, problem, change, release, security, and production management procedures.
  • Help improve monitoring, automation, resiliency, recoverability, and overall production reliability.
