Baptist Health is hiring Surgical Technologists to join our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Surgical Services Team at Baptist Medical Center South. This is a full-time position. Candidates must be flexible to work weekdays, weekends, holidays, and participate in the required call rotation.
As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting cardiovascular surgeons and the operating room team by maintaining a sterile environment and ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures for open heart and cardiovascular cases.
As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, your responsibilities include:
- Assemble, organize, and maintain a sterile field for cardiovascular operative procedures
- Anticipate the surgeon's needs throughout each procedure and prepare instruments and supplies accordingly
- Ensure proper handling and disposition of surgical specimens and instruments
- Collaborate with the surgical team to minimize anesthesia time and promote patient safety
- Prepare, clean, and restock the operating room between procedures
- Participate in the required weekday and weekend call rotation
Experience Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience with Open Heart Procedures required
Education & Credential Requirements:
- High school diploma required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
