Your mission

• Lead, mentor, and develop a distributed System Engineering team across Europe.
• Own and operate core IT services including Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, and database services.
• Manage and continuously improve VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL environments.
• Ensure high availability, performance, capacity planning, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
• Act as the escalation point for critical incidents and drive effective resolution across teams.
• Promote automation, standardization, Infrastructure-as-Code, and operational excellence.
• Oversee system changes, maintenance activities, releases, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure compliance with security, audit, licensing, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation and operational procedures.
• Collaborate closely with Network, Security, and Application teams in an international environment.
• Manage on-call readiness and operational support processes.

Your profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
•  7+ years of experience in System Engineering, IT Infrastructure, or a similar role, including leadership responsibilities.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Hands-on experience with VMware, Proxmox, Kubernetes, MSSQL, and PostgreSQL.
• Solid Linux administration skills and experience with Azure and/or AWS, ideally in hybrid environments.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, incident management, capacity planning, backup, and disaster recovery concepts.
• Experience with Jira and Confluence for documentation, planning, and operational processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in English and German.
• Willingness to travel internationally (10–20%).
