Operating Room Lead Nurse (RN) – San Diego, CA
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Operating Room Lead Nurse (RN) to provide clinical leadership and support within a busy surgical services department. This role combines direct patient care with operational oversight and team coordination to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality surgical services.
Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities within the operating room
-
Serve as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for surgical services staff
-
Assign and support team members to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery
-
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate surgical procedures
-
Review surgical schedules and assist with procedural planning
-
Coordinate equipment, specialty products, and supply needs for upcoming cases
-
Support operating room staff during procedures and provide clinical assistance as needed
-
Monitor compliance with patient safety standards, policies, and best practices
-
Assist with workflow management, staffing support, and operational projects
-
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental goals
-
Foster a collaborative, patient-centered surgical environment
Qualifications
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for licensure
-
Graduate of an accredited nursing program
-
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
-
Previous operating room nursing experience required
-
Experience supporting orthopedic, neurological, spine, or other specialty surgical procedures preferred
-
Leadership, charge nurse, or team lead experience preferred

Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
-
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced perioperative environment
