Summary:
The Credit Services Manager manages the activities of Collectors to insure all efforts are made to collect delinquent accounts in a timely manner. Responsible for the compliance of all collection activities with external regulations and bank policies and procedures. Manages the bank's interest and minimizes potential losses through authorization of legal action or recommendation for charge off. Monitors the area's performance and updates management accordingly.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Early/Late stage delinquency oversight for delinquent loan products.
- Thorough understanding of investor/portfolio servicing requirements.
- Ensuring key risk indicators remain within established Segment Risk thresholds.
- Accountable for daily execution of productivity, delinquency performance, and charge-off avoidance.
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports on the area productivity to senior management. Establishes quality of service level for the area.
- Represent Collections management at cross-functional business unit and investor meetings.
- Provide satisfactory resolution to internal/external customer complaints.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 3+ years of collection experience with some managerial/supervisorial or team lead experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- General understanding of bankruptcy chapter 7 &13
- Strong negotiation skills
- Strong communication skills; both verbal and written.
- Experience with Microsoft suite
- Must be proactive, self-motivated, independent and results oriented
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor and direct others
- Proven ability to work effectively within all organizational levels and departments to achieve desired results; demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to use independent judgment in large customer and source relationships
- Strong conflict resolution, motivational, analytical/problem solving and negotiation skills
- Solid knowledge of all stages of collections
- Proven ability to manage customer and internal relationships and make decisions that balance the customer needs with the company’s needs
