Salary: €65,000 – €75,000 DOE + Performance Bonus
Full-time | 5-day week | 1:4 Saturdays | 1:12 Sundays
The Vet Office is currently recruiting for a Lead Veterinary Surgeon to join a modern, well-equipped small animal practice in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vet who enjoys combining high clinical standards with leadership and team development.
You will play a key role in leading the clinical team, maintaining exceptional patient care, and supporting the continued growth and success of the practice.
The Role
As Lead Veterinary Surgeon, you will:
- Lead, inspire and support a team of veterinary surgeons and nurses.
- Promote a positive, collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Deliver outstanding clinical care while maintaining high professional standards.
- Mentor and develop veterinary colleagues, supporting their clinical progression.
- Work closely with the Head Veterinary Nurse to ensure excellent patient outcomes.
- Drive preventative healthcare initiatives and client education.
- Monitor clinical performance, KPIs and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with VCI regulations and best practice standards.
- Support the achievement of business objectives while maintaining exceptional client care.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- MVB or equivalent Veterinary Degree.
- Eligibility to register with the Veterinary Council of Ireland (VCI).
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in small animal practice.
- Previous experience in a senior or leadership role (preferred).
- Strong clinical and surgical skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
- A genuine passion for mentoring colleagues and developing teams.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in practice performance.
