Lead Product Designer
Design isn't a step in product development. It's how great products are built.
We're looking for a Lead Product Designer who sees beyond interfaces.
You'll shape product direction, influence strategic decisions, and create experiences that solve meaningful customer problems across entire journeys—not just individual features.
As one of the senior voices in Design, you'll help raise the quality of product thinking across the organisation. You'll bring clarity to ambiguity, structure to complex problems, and confidence to decision making through research, systems thinking, experimentation, and storytelling.
This role is equal parts designer, strategist, facilitator, and catalyst.
What You'll Own
Shape Product Direction
You won't wait for requirements.
You'll help define them.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Data and Research, you'll uncover opportunities, frame problems worth solving, and influence product strategy before solutions are discussed.
You'll:
Drive product discovery alongside cross-functional partners.
Translate customer insights into strategic opportunities.
Challenge assumptions with evidence.
Frame problems before proposing solutions.
Connect user value with business outcomes.
Design End-to-End Journeys
Customers don't experience products one screen at a time.
Neither should we.
You'll design experiences across complete customer journeys, ensuring interactions feel coherent across touchpoints, products, and moments in time.
You'll:
Map end-to-end customer journeys.
Identify friction across workflows rather than isolated interfaces.
Design across ecosystems, platforms and channels.
Consider operational, business and technical dependencies.
Balance local optimisation with system-wide outcomes.
Think in Systems
You'll see patterns where others see individual problems.
You'll create scalable solutions that improve not only today's feature, but tomorrow's products.
You'll:
Design frameworks instead of one-off solutions.
Evolve design systems and interaction patterns.
Improve information architecture across products.
Reduce complexity through reusable principles.
Make consistency intentional—not restrictive.
Lead Through Influence
Leadership isn't determined by reporting lines.
It's earned through credibility.
You'll become a trusted voice across Product, Engineering and leadership teams by communicating clearly, asking better questions, and helping teams make better decisions.
You'll:
Facilitate difficult conversations.
Bring alignment across competing priorities.
Influence roadmaps through customer evidence.
Represent Design in strategic planning.
Advocate for quality while balancing business realities.
People should actively seek your perspective because it consistently improves decisions.
Build a Culture of Experimentation
Strong opinions.
Loosely held.
You'll foster a culture where ideas are validated through learning rather than hierarchy.
You'll:
Design experiments instead of debating opinions.
Define hypotheses and success metrics.
Prototype rapidly.
Validate concepts with customers.
Learn quickly from failures.
Use qualitative and quantitative insights together.
Progress matters more than perfection.
Tell Stories That Move People
The best ideas fail when they're poorly communicated.
You'll use storytelling to align teams, influence stakeholders, and inspire action.
You'll:
Turn research into compelling narratives.
Communicate complex ideas simply.
Present design rationale with confidence.
Create artefacts that help teams think together.
Inspire alignment around a shared vision.
Your work won't just explain what should be built—it'll make people believe why it matters.
Elevate Design Excellence
You'll make every designer around you better.
You'll:
Lead thoughtful design critiques.
Mentor designers through coaching rather than directing.
Raise the quality of product thinking.
Champion accessibility and usability.
Maintain a high bar for craft without creating unnecessary process.
You'll contribute to a culture where feedback is generous, honest and actionable.
Create Structure That Enables Great Design
Great design doesn't happen by accident.
It happens because the team has the right systems.
You'll improve how Design operates by creating clarity, consistency and scalable ways of working.
You'll:
Improve design processes from discovery through delivery.
Define quality standards and governance.
Create reusable playbooks and frameworks.
Strengthen collaboration rituals.
Improve documentation and knowledge sharing.
Continuously refine how Design partners with Product and Engineering.
The goal isn't more process.
It's better decisions with less friction.
Use AI as a Force Multiplier
AI won't replace designers.
Designers who know how to leverage AI will outperform those who don't.
You'll use AI intentionally to improve both customer experiences and the way Design works.
You'll:
Accelerate ideation, exploration and prototyping.
Synthesise research and customer feedback.
Improve design workflows through automation.
Explore AI-native product experiences.
Evaluate opportunities responsibly with consideration for ethics, trust, accessibility and privacy.
Share emerging practices that improve team capability.
You're curious enough to experiment and pragmatic enough to know when AI genuinely adds value.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first year, you'll have:
Influenced product strategy beyond your immediate product area.
Designed experiences that improve entire customer journeys rather than isolated features.
Increased confidence in Design as a strategic partner across the organisation.
Elevated design quality through coaching, critique and systems thinking.
Introduced better frameworks for discovery, experimentation and decision making.
Improved collaboration across Product, Engineering and Research.
Helped establish scalable design practices that outlast individual projects.
Demonstrated thoughtful adoption of AI that improves both customer outcomes and team effectiveness.
What You'll Bring
We're less interested in years of experience than the way you think.
You likely have:
Significant experience designing and shipping digital products in complex environments.
A portfolio demonstrating systems thinking, strategic influence and measurable impact—not just polished interfaces.
Strong facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
The ability to navigate ambiguity and create clarity.
Excellent storytelling and communication skills.
A deep understanding of product strategy, customer research and experimentation.
Experience mentoring designers and raising organisational capability.
Curiosity about emerging technologies, particularly AI, and how they reshape products and design practice.
The Kind of Designer You'll Be Here
You think in journeys before screens.
You simplify complexity.
You ask better questions than most people have answers for.
You influence without relying on authority.
You create systems that scale.
You make teams better, not just products.
And when the organisation faces ambiguity, you're someone people trust to bring clarity.
Our commitment to you:
Hybrid flexible working that focuses on outcomes over hours.
Holistic rewards package covering your financial, physical & mental health.
Multi-directional career development across all levels.
Inclusive benefits like equal paternity leave, supporting all employees in work-life balance.
At PropertyGuru, you’ll be part of a Top Employers Certified* company that puts people at the heart of everything we do.
