Fixed Asset & Tax Accountant

• The Fixed Asset & Tax Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely accounting and control of the plant’s fixed assets throughout their lifecycle, including capitalisation, depreciation, transfer, impairment and disposal. The role also consolidates, validates and prepares plant-related financial and operational data, provides analysis and supporting documentation, and serves as the key finance contact for the Tax team to support tax reporting, reconciliations, audits and compliance requirements.

• Manage end-to-end accounting for fixed assets and construction in progress (CIP), including additions, capitalisation, transfers, depreciation, impairment, retirement and disposal, in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.

• Maintain accurate fixed asset registers and supporting documentation; complete month-end activities, reconcile fixed asset and CIP balances to the general ledger, investigate variances promptly, and prepare and submit relevant fixed asset reports accurately and on time.

• Partner with plant functions to review capital expenditure and project status, ensuring appropriate asset classification, capitalisation timing, useful lives and cost allocation.

• Coordinate periodic physical inventories, resolve discrepancies, and ensure asset tags, locations, custodians and status are updated accurately.

• Act as the key liaison with the Tax team by preparing supporting schedules and reconciliations, explaining book-to-tax differences, and responding to tax filing, audit and information requests.

• Support internal and external audits, strengthen fixed asset controls and reporting efficiency, and ensure compliance with finance policies, statutory requirements and plant EHS rules.
