Position Summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a cross functional team that will be driving down the Parts Work Queue in Procurement.
As a Planning and Delivery Leader for Rolls-Royce, you’ll play an integral role in the preparation, planning, and issuing and controlling production schedules along with coordinating material requirements, to ensure a controlled flow for approved materials is timed to meet production.
This role also involves driving adherence to supplier commitments, resolving risks to delivery and inventory, and maintaining SAP data integrity in line with ERP processes.
What you will be doing:
- Scheduling equipment and personnel and confirming material supply and demands.
- Review part specific schedules and action exception messages as needed.
- Coordinating interdepartmental activity causing delivery delays with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.
- Scheduling and expediting the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
- Working within broader Procurement and GBS team to mitigate unnecessary sourcing activities.
- Working with relevant stakeholders and third-party service providers support the resolution of delivery issue.
- Supports the provision of delivery commitments and action status through relevant PI executive tools and systems.
- Interface with wider Rolls-Royce and Procurement for early identification and impact of possible shortages and excess affecting the business plan, to ensure mitigating actions are completed and escalate where appropriate.
- Work in line with the Procurement Production System and support its development and improvement activities to continuously improve the way we operate.
- Support the Work Queue methodology to mitigate sourcing activities where appropriate and development of the Work Queue flow and tools.
- As part of demand flow down, manage the requisitions for un-sourced parts to ensure Buyers can source the parts in a timely manner
- Supplier Management, if required, works with suppliers to create and execute arrears recovery plans for parts/suppliers who are behind plans, utilizing an appropriate suite of planning and control tools and drive suppliers to be compliant with their buffer stock requirements/agreements.
Stakeholder management:
- Where performance diverges from the plan, identify and prioritise delivery issues whilst assisting the mitigation and resolution. Escalate delivery issues accordingly to drive timely resolution of issues
- Manage communication with stakeholders for shortages and excess inventory, communicate clearly the issue, demonstrating control by providing plans to resolve issues and provide frequent updates.
- Work with other functions to ensure items which could impact on a supplier’s ability to deliver are resolved, including but not limited to invoice clearance, commercial disputes, technical/quality queries or insufficient purchase order coverage
Position qualifications

- Educated to a degree level in a numerate or business discipline, or will have 3+ years equivalent business experience within purchasing, planning, manufacturing or supply chain
- Membership of a relevant professional body or institute would be desirable e.g., APICS CPIM.
- Experience in supply chain planning, production planning, supplier management, or delivery management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand planning, forecasting, and inventory management, continuous improvement tools and purchasing processes.
- You will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications (Excel is essential) with working knowledge of an ERP system, preferably SAP MRP, Production Planning & Material Management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate with all parts of the business including internal and external stakeholders
