## What you’ll do:
Location: Győr or Budapest
The Product Manager is responsible for driving the development and implementation of strategic product plans, portfolio direction and business performance for the Bussmann Low voltage, Medium voltage & UL Fuse link & assessories product lines while ensuring sustainable business growth and profitability
Evaluates initial customer product requests and leads product development resources, helping to co-ordinate other functional areas of the business as necessary to achieve growth, market share, cost, and profitability and volume expectations on key product projects. Leads the product launch process for the assigned product lines, assessing competitive offerings. Evaluates and helps prioritise plant, custom engineering, cost reduction and process improvement opportunities.
Market Intelligence and Customer Insights
- Identify market opportunities, application trends and growth areas.
- Represent customer, application and segment requirements within the organization.
- Drive market and competitive analysis to support portfolio and investment decisions.
Product Strategy and Portfolio Management
- Create, develop and maintain a five-year product plan (roadmap) for key products and coordinate product-planning inputs for strategic and business planning.
- Manage product lifecycle strategies including product introductions, upgrades, migration plans, obsolescence management and product retirement.
- Support and deliver complexity reduction for analysis and implementing end-of-life plans.
Product Development and NPI Management
- Evaluate product-line extension or modification requests from Sales or external customers using a formal process and prepare business proposals covering specification, target cost and average selling price.
- Define strategic product requirements and business priorities for development projects.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Project Management on NPI projects and innovation initiatives.
- Introduce competitive products on schedule and on budget that meet or exceed market expectations.
Go-To-Market and Commercial Enablement
- Define go-to-market strategies for product lines and strategic growth initiatives.
- Own product literature content, including features, benefits and performance data, in printed and electronic formats throughout the product lifecycle
- Collaborate with Commercial and Marketing teams to support successful market introduction and adoption.
- Deliver product training programs and marketing launch plans supporting NPI and key-segment offerings, enabling new products to achieve committed vitality targets.
Pricing, Profitability and Business Performance
- Define pricing strategies and value-based pricing approaches for the product portfolio.
- Drive actions to improve business performance across the product lifecycle.
- Own part-level, resource and financial SIOP forecasts and business outlooks supporting investment decisions and innovation targets.
- Evaluate and prioritize product cost-reduction, modification and process-improvement recommendations with Manufacturing from a commercial perspective.
Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Quality.
- Drive decisions and alignment across organizational boundaries.
- Lead functional teams and initiatives without direct reporting responsibility.
- Work closely with Market and Geography Managers and the global product-line function to balance competing business needs and deliver the strategic plan.
## Qualifications:
- Degree (Commercial or Engineering)
- 5+ years in Product Management Function or applicable experience
## Skills:
- Familiar with financial measurements of an investment opportunity and NPD process
- Demonstrated experience in product strategy, portfolio management and business planning
- Strong understanding of NPI processes, product lifecycle management and portfolio optimization
- General understanding of manufacturing technologies and relies on manufacturing engineering to stay abreast of the latest technologies
- Strong understanding of markets and customers and works with the sales team to build and maintain this intelligence
- Needs to have an overview of agency standards, code requirements, industry practices and present product performance capabilities
- Strong understanding of technical practices within the electrical sector, more favourably power conversion and protection systems
- Ability to lead and influence a cross functional team
- Communicate to stakeholders in a concise, effective manner
