This position is based in Dearborn, Michigan, supporting automotive manufacturing and supply chain operations. The Operation Manager is responsible for the overall performance of the operation, including customer satisfaction, employee leadership, safety, quality, financial performance, and daily execution. This role serves as the primary point of contact for both customer and internal leadership teams and plays a critical role in ensuring operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operations supporting automotive customer requirements and service expectations.
- Manage and develop supervisors, coordinators, drivers, and hourly employees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer representatives and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Monitor operational performance, staffing levels, safety, attendance, and service-related KPIs.
- Drive employee accountability through coaching, training, performance management, and corrective action.
- Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer concerns, and employee relations matters.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and safety standards.
- Partner with HR, Safety, Recruiting, and Operations Leadership to support staffing, retention, and employee development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, service, and overall operational performance.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 3+ years of leadership experience in logistics, transportation, manufacturing, warehousing, or automotive operations.
- Experience leading supervisors, drivers, or hourly workforces.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and employee development skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Automotive, transportation, or logistics experience preferred.
