Position Overview

Senior Operations Manager – EV / AV

Location: Miami with up to 30–40% travel

 

Amerit Fleet Solutions is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Operations Manager (SOM) to lead the operations and maintenance of our electric autonomous vehicle fleet across two primary locations. This position will initially oversee a team of six Fleet Managers, with the scope expected to grow as operations expand.

 

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, deep operational knowledge of electric vehicle systems, and a demonstrated ability to drive team performance, customer satisfaction, and cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Fleet Manager Leadership & Team Development

• Directly manage and develop a growing team of Fleet Managers—starting with six—responsible for the day-to-day operations of electric autonomous fleet maintenance and service delivery.
• Provide leadership, performance coaching, and operational oversight to ensure efficiency, quality, and alignment with organizational goals.
• Scale team structure and support resources as business demands and fleet size increase.

Electric Autonomous Fleet Operations

• Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance for EAVs, including diagnostics, battery systems, sensor calibrations, and over-the-air software updates.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and operational authority on EV service processes and equipment readiness.
• Ensure optimal vehicle uptime and technician productivity through proactive planning and performance tracking.

Client Management & Relationship Building

• Manage relationships with multiple on-site clients across both locations, ensuring clear communication, service satisfaction, and operational excellence.
• Lead client-facing meetings and business reviews, identifying opportunities to improve service levels, reduce downtime, and support client objectives.
• Partner with Fleet Managers to deliver consistent, high-quality service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.

Cross-Functional & Vendor Collaboration

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across HR, Finance, Procurement, Engineering, and IT to align operations with broader company goals.
• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers supporting parts, tools, infrastructure, and fleet technology.
• Lead initiatives that improve collaboration, communication, and efficiency across functions and external partners.

Operational Performance & Optimization

• Track and analyze operational KPIs such as technician utilization, fleet availability, service turnaround time, and client satisfaction.
• Use data-driven insights to implement process improvements, close performance gaps, and scale successful practices across locations.
• Develop and maintain standardized reporting and review processes across teams.

Inventory, Tools, & Infrastructure Support

• Oversee inventory accuracy and availability for EV-specific parts, tools, and technology resources at both fleet centers.
• Ensure teams have the resources needed to operate efficiently and meet customer service requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• 10+ years of experience in fleet operations, service management, or transportation logistics, with EV/AV or high-tech fleet exposure strongly preferred.
• Experience managing multi-site operations and leading frontline supervisors or managers.
• Proven ability to build strong client relationships and lead service delivery in complex environments.
• Strong background in cross-functional collaboration and vendor management.
• Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant certifications a plus (fleet management, EV systems, Lean/Six Sigma).
• Excellent communicator with a hands-on, problem-solving approach and a passion for operational excellence.
