Job Summary:
Community Roots Housing is looking for two Assistant Property Managers to support the Property Managers at our 100+ unit buildings with day-to-day operations, Pride Place & Station House and Liberty Bank Building & Africatown Plaza. The job responsibilities include leasing, income certifications, maintenance, rent collection, tenant relations, and rules enforcement.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the Property Manager or Senior Property Manager with all aspects of the community’s daily operations.
- Keep RealPage and related resident management systems accurate and up to date.
- Communicate effectively with prospective residents through email, phone calls, appointments, and follow-up outreach.
- Conduct apartment tours and guide new residents through the application, leasing, and move-in processes.
- Respond promptly to resident questions and concerns.
- Provide excellent customer service to residents, prospective residents, and guests.
- Support the Property Manager with tax credit compliance, including required certifications.
- Communicate and document concerns to the Property Manager in a timely manner.
- Assist the Property Manager with preparing weekly reports.
- Prepare and post required notices.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to speak, read and write in standard business English.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Ability to problem solve independently.
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience working with a diverse populations.
- The ability to walk stairs, climb ladders, and operate common cleaning tools.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize time efficiently, prioritize and perform tasks independently.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One-year affordable property management or leasing experience.
- Tax credit, HUD Project Based Section 8, and other forms of affordable housing experience.
- Experience with property management software (One Site RealPage).
Supervisory Responsibility:
None
Physical Demands: Constant – hearing or taking in auditory information, seeing (including small detail) or taking in visual information, and sitting. Frequent - Fine finger manipulation, talking, lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, moving around the office and to off-site locations, repetitive hand and arm motion, handling/grasping, pushing/pulling. Occasional - Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds. Use of Stairs.
