Eaton’s Corporate Sector division is currently seeking a Sr Opex Engineer.
## What you’ll do:
Job Summary
The OPEX Engineer leads complex Operational Excellence, process improvement, digital transformation, and data analytics initiatives across EatonCare. The role is responsible for identifying improvement opportunities, defining solutions, coordinating cross-functional implementation, and ensuring sustainable business results. This position serves as a technical and Operational Excellence subject matter expert, establishes standards and best practices, and coaches OPEX Engineers, Analysts, interns, and business stakeholders. The Senior OPEX Engineer operates with a high level of autonomy and acts as a role model for continuous improvement, accountability, collaboration, and Eaton’s leadership behaviors.
Job Responsibilities
A. Lead complex Operational Excellence and process improvement initiatives from opportunity identification through implementation, validation, and sustainment.
B. Own the design, governance, accuracy, security, and continuous improvement of EatonCare H5 metrics, Power BI dashboards, dataflows, datamarts, and related analytical solutions.
C. Translate strategic and operational business needs into scalable digital, analytical, and process improvement solutions that support leadership decision-making.
D. Establish and standardize OPEX methodologies, reporting practices, documentation, and governance requirements across supported EatonCare functions.
E. Lead cross-functional problem-solving activities using Lean, Six Sigma, data analysis, root cause analysis, and structured project management methodologies.
F. Define project objectives, success measures, implementation plans, risks, and stakeholder responsibilities, and ensure the delivery of measurable and sustainable results.
G. Coach and mentor OPEX Engineers, Analysts, interns, and business partners in process improvement, data analytics, Power Platform tools, and structured problem solving.
H. Facilitate Gemba Walks, Kaizen events, process reviews, and leadership discussions, ensuring that opportunities are translated into prioritized and actionable improvement plans.
I. Serve as the OPEX subject matter expert for assigned processes and act as the escalation point for complex analytical, reporting, automation, and process improvement challenges.
J. Promote Eaton’s cultural model and serve as a role model for accountability, ethical behavior, collaboration, continuous learning, digital mindset, safety, and Zero Incident Culture."
## Qualifications:
Education level required
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics, Business Engineering, or a related field #LI-MB2
Years and area of experience required
Minimum 3 years of experience in Operational Excellence, continuous improvement, data analytics, process automation, or related functions, including demonstrated experience leading cross-functional improvement projects.
Technical knowledge
1-Advanced knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, structured problem solving, root cause analysis, process mapping, standard work, and continuous improvement methodologies.
2-Advanced proficiency in Snowflake, Power BI, including DAX, Power Query, data modeling, workspaces, dataflows, governance, security, and report performance optimization.
3-Working knowledge of Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, Microsoft Forms, and related Microsoft Power Platform capabilities.
4-Demonstrated ability to lead complex improvement projects and translate business requirements into scalable technical and process solutions.
5-Strong understanding of data quality, reporting governance, documentation, change control, and solution sustainment."
## Skills:
6-Ability to define and monitor key performance indicators, project benefits, productivity improvements, and operational impact.
7-Advanced English communication skills, including the ability to facilitate meetings, present recommendations, and communicate with leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
8-Experience coaching or mentoring team members in technical, analytical, or process improvement capabilities.
9-Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification preferred; Black Belt certification or equivalent advanced improvement experience is desirable.
