Maintenance Generalist (2nd Shift)-Gadsden, AL

Current maintenance team members requesting shift change will be given priority.

Job description:

• Applicants will be considered for shifts and hours posted. Must be available to work overtime and weekends if required.

• General Maintenance positions are responsible for keeping machinery running to maintain continuous production.

• You must be willing to set up, adjust, and break down production line machinery.

• Must be willing to learn Tyson SAP software to make work orders and fill out the daily documentation that is required in the system.

• Must be able to read and write where required.

• Must be able to use math as needed to make work-related computations for machinery, fluid capacities, etc.

• Must be willing and able to lift 70 lbs. with assistance on a daily basis and be able to work on your feet for 12 hours.

• Must be willing to complete all required training for the job.

• Must be able to communicate clearly with Upper Management and team members via phone, in person, and in writing regarding the status of equipment repairs.

• Must be able to use Forklifts, Pallet Jacks, Ladders, Fall Protection, and Lock Out Tag Out

Requirements:

• Experience/history: a minimum of 6-months related industrial maintenance experience within the last 12 months (can be a combination of employers (listed in the application) and/or technical certifications.

• Internal candidates will be considered first. If there are no qualified internal candidates selected, we will look at external applicants.

• Must not have a Written Warning within the last 6 months of the bid date.

• Bidder cannot have over 7 points to be considered for this position.

• If you are selected for this position and choose to decline, you will be ineligible to apply for another position for six months. Similarly, if you accept the position, you will not be eligible for lateral moves or positions with lower pay for six months; only promotions will be considered.

• Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner.

• This position is slated for team members who are currently working at this facility or complex only.
