Compensation Range:
85,000.00-105,000.00Job Title: Materials Manager
Location: Selma, Texas (on-Site)
Company: Munters Corporation
About Us: Munters is a global leader in climate solutions for mission-critical processes. We offer innovative, efficient and sustainable solutions for customers in industries where controlling indoor humidity, temperature and energy efficiency is mission-critical. Climate control systems often account for a large percentage of the energy consumption in many of our customers’ operations. With an optimal climate system, we can help them to more efficiently use energy or water resources and thereby reduce their climate and environmental impact. Sustainability is an important part of Munters’ business strategy and value creation. We pride ourselves on fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where interns are valued members of the team and are given meaningful projects to work on.
Scope:
The materials manager owns inventory, warehouse operations, and material flow to the production line, balancing line availability against carrying cost. The role leads the buyers, the inventory control analyst, and the warehouse supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Own material availability to the production line: review stock levels and shortage risk against the current production schedule, and expedite critical shortages.
- Lead and develop the buyers, inventory control analyst, and warehouse supervisor; set priorities, review performance, and hold each role accountable for flagging risk early.
- Set safety stock, reorder, and inventory policies, and review cycle-count exceptions and inventory accuracy.
- Coordinate with production planning so material plans reflect the build schedule, and with the procurement manager on lead times and minimum order quantities.
- Plan warehouse capacity and floor space, and review capacity decisions with the director of operations.
- Standardize inventory, purchasing, and warehouse processes and metrics across two factories, and run the weekly cross-factory syncs.
- Escalate any shortage likely to affect a customer commitment to the supply chain director, sales, and the affected plant the same day it is identified.
- Own the materials budget, including carrying cost and expedite spend.
Deliverables and measures:
Success is judged on inventory turns, fill rate to the line, inventory accuracy, and carrying cost. Turns and fill rate pull against each other, so the role is about finding the right balance for the business.
