Description
Do you want to play a key role in a dynamic and engaging workplace, providing excellent learning opportunities within the global market leader of container logistics?
We offer
At Maersk, our vision is to be the Global Integrator of Container Logistics, connecting and simplifying our customers’ supply chains. Technology and AI are becoming critical enablers of this ambition, changing how we plan, operate and serve our customers across the Ocean business.
As part of the Ocean Cost and Trades Finance team, you will join a diverse, high-performing and internationally minded finance community at the heart of Ocean’s transformation agenda. In this role, you will partner closely with Network Strategy & Service Delivery (NSSD), with a primary focus on our AI journey: the AI initiatives that are changing how we plan, operate and deliver our services.
You will drive value realization and performance management of our AI initiatives at Ocean level, tracking adoption, delivery and benefits, and closely following how AI is impacting our business. As a strong sparring partner and constructive challenger, you will provide clear insights, recommendations and actions, help the business assess trade-offs in IT and AI prioritization, and ensure finance requirements, compliance and controls are built into new technologies and processes.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of finance, AI and Maersk’s Ocean business, shaping how one of the world’s largest logistics companies measures and captures value from AI.
You will thrive in a professionally stimulating and culturally diverse environment, working with highly skilled colleagues at our headquarters and across our global finance, technology and business communities. The role offers significant exposure, learning opportunities and the chance to influence how Maersk adopts AI and technology across Ocean.
Key responsibilities
- Business partnering: Partner with NSSD leaders to drive holistic business performance in support of the company strategy. Act as a sparring partner and constructive challenger, providing clear insights and recommendations, and drive improvement projects together with the business.
- Value realization: Drive business case creation, value tracking and benefit realization for our technology and transformation initiatives, many of them AI-driven, with a clear link to the tech and process roadmap. Follow adoption across Ocean and assess how these initiatives impact the business.
- Performance management and reporting: Own monthly performance management and reporting of the initiative portfolio at Ocean level. Consolidate initiative status and benefits across many stakeholders, and prepare material for monthly business reviews, quarterly planning and other management forums.
- Investment prioritization: Help Service Delivery assess trade-offs between competing technology initiatives, bringing cost, benefit and delivery data together to support prioritization decisions.
- Finance requirements and controls: Bring finance requirements to the platform teams in scope, making sure compliance and controls are built into new technologies and processes.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate has a background in finance business partnering and performance management, with a track record of driving business results through financial insight. Experience with value realization tracking is a strong advantage.
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting or Business Administration, combined with experience in Finance Business Partnering, Performance Management, Business Case Development, Tech Finance or equivalent.
Key competencies:
- Strong Finance & Business Acumen: Deep understanding of financial performance, value drivers, business cases, and how financial outcomes connect to operational and strategic priorities.
- Performance Management: Proven experience with KPIs, reporting, forecasting, and translating insights into actions and results.
- Stakeholder Management & Influence: Builds trusted relationships, communicates effectively, and drives alignment across senior stakeholders without formal authority.
- Collaboration in a Global Matrix Environment: Navigates complexity, connects the right people, and mobilizes cross-functional teams to deliver outcomes.
- Change & Transformation Mindset: Thrives in dynamic environments, embraces change, and helps drive transformation initiatives.
We are looking for a curious and motivated individual with a growth mindset, eager to learn, take on new challenges and keep developing through experience and collaboration.
