Job Description:
The Director for BU Finance Strategy & Operational is responsible for strengthening how the Hybrid Cloud Finance organization operates—helping teams focus on the highest-value work, simplify ways of working, and build scalable practices that support business growth. This role serves as an enabler of clarity, consistency, and impact across Finance, ensuring the organization is aligned around common priorities, repeatable processes, and the capabilities needed to provide strong business partnership and decision support.
Working closely with the BU CFO and Finance leadership team, this leader will identify where to invest and where to simplify. The role will champion operating effectiveness, thoughtful modernization, AI-enabled productivity, and analytical excellence while helping build a more consistent, scalable, and connected Finance organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Finance Strategy & Prioritization
- Partner with Finance leadership to define and execute the BU Finance strategic roadmap.
- Establish a rigorous prioritization framework to focus on the initiatives that create the greatest business impact.
- Drive reviews to determine where to invest, scale or simplify.
- Provide visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes tied to key Finance priorities.
Enable Modernization & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and digital capabilities to improve productivity and effectiveness.
- Build and govern improvement initiatives with clear business cases, milestones, expected benefits, and thoughtful change plans.
- Act as a catalyst for practical modernization and continuous improvement across the Finance organization.
Create a Consistent Finance Operating Model
- Standardize processes, tools, reporting, templates, and ways of working across the BU Finance organization.
- Establish governance mechanisms that ensure consistent execution and service delivery.
- Drive simplification efforts that reduce complexity and improve scalability.
- Ensure Finance outputs are high quality, repeatable, and reflect a unified Finance organization.
Enhance Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Partner cross-functionally with Business Unit leaders, FP&A, Finance Digital Transformation and Corporate Strategy

Qualifications
Required Experience
- 10+ years of Finance, Strategy, Consulting, Operating Effectiveness, or Business Operations experience.
- Proven track record leading complex cross-functional initiatives that improve clarity, consistency, scalability, and business impact.
- Experience driving operating model design, process simplification, and organizational effectiveness initiatives.
- Strong strategic planning, change management, and program leadership capabilities.
- Experience influencing senior executives and operating effectively in matrix organizations.
Critical Success Factors
Within the first 12-18 months, success will be measured by:
- Partnering to help create a clear Hybrid Cloud Finance strategy and operating effectiveness roadmap.
- Standardizing core Finance processes, governance, and outputs.
- Improving consistency and quality of Finance support across the organization.
- Driving measurable productivity gains through simplification, automation, and AI.
