What you will do

· Represent European business and consumer requirements within the international platform organisation, working closely with global engineering teams to influence priorities, capabilities and platform evolution.
· Lead the delivery of mobile applications, cloud services, APIs, device onboarding, connectivity services, firmware integration and over-the-air updates.
· Ensure successful delivery of new product introductions (NPI), platform enhancements and technical improvements through effective planning, governance and release management.
· Champion engineering excellence through platform reliability, performance optimisation, technical quality, operational monitoring and continuous reduction of technical debt.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, security and privacy requirements, including GDPR, RED and other applicable European standards.

· Stay ahead of emerging technologies including AI, connected ecosystems, cloud services, security and industry standards — ensuring our connected platform continues to evolve while remaining secure, scalable and future-ready.
What you need to succeed
About You
· 5+ years' experience leading IoT, connected platform or software engineering teams, ideally within consumer technology, connected devices or digital products.

· Experienced in leading cross-functional engineering teams and collaborating across international organisations.
· Strong technical understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, mobile applications, connected devices, firmware integration and modern software architecture.
· Experienced in Agile software delivery, CI/CD, release management, quality assurance and platform operations.
· Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, security and privacy requirements including GDPR, RED and related European standards.
· Proven experience managing external technology partners and outsourced engineering organisations.
· Skilled at influencing without authority — able to align engineering, product and business teams around shared priorities across multiple geographies.
· You are an engineering-led technology leader who enjoys solving complex technical problems while never losing sight of the consumer. You are equally comfortable discussing platform architecture with engineers, negotiating priorities with international stakeholders and helping business leaders understand technical trade-offs.
· Curious, confident and comfortable working in fast-changing international environments.
· Fluent in English (Italian or other European languages are a plus).
