Description
As a Purchasing Specialist at FLSmidth & Co. AS, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services essential for our global operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities**
* Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery timelines.
* Prepare and process purchase orders and requisitions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
* Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or invoicing.
* Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., engineering, production, logistics) to understand their procurement needs and ensure seamless supply chain operations.
* Maintain accurate purchasing records, including supplier information, order details, and contract agreements.
* Conduct market research to identify new products, suppliers, and industry trends.
* Participate in cost reduction initiatives and process improvement projects.
* Ensure compliance with FLSmidth & Co. AS's ethical sourcing guidelines and sustainability policies.
Job Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
* 2-4 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
* Proven negotiation skills and experience in supplier relationship management.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
* Proficiency in procurement software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
* Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus.
* Knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures is desirable.
