About the Opportunity
JOB SUMMARY
The Assistant Vice President – Global Initiatives will play a hands-on, leadership-level role, serving as an advisor to the Senior Vice President, and executor to create procedures and improve processes across the Global University System. The AVP will work with teams on high-priority university projects and integrating projects to assist with optimization, lead projects from initialization to execution, have high-level management skills along with top-level strategic insight and the ability to assist and lead in the implementation of organizational fiscal and operational initiatives. This role is the focal point of people, processes, and tools for the Global Network & Strategic Initiative division business and operations initiatives which will include strategic university wide initiatives. The AVP will also support Northeastern's growth strategy by leading institutional due diligence and integration planning for mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and other strategic partnerships, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic priorities, operating model, and culture as it expands its Global University System.

Knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired through a bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) plus at least 8-10 years of experience, including 5-10 years of experience working with executive-level leaders; higher education experience preferred.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
Leading projects and multi-disciplinary teams across the unit to address issues and create process improvement. Driving rapid, value-added consensus in a complex, high-paced organization, and providing analysis for complex issues with significant business impact. Communicating operational risks, opportunities, and recommendations clearly and concisely to the SVP.
Project Leadership & Orchestration: Developing and maintaining an inventory of critical path projects of interest to the SVP, and aligning senior leadership's actions and communications in support of agreed-upon goals. Leading project management for key initiatives, scoping, planning, and executing multiple priority projects while keeping the SVP apprised of status, variations, and findings.
Institutional Growth & Integration: Leading institutional due diligence and integration planning for mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and strategic partnerships, assessing academic, operational, financial, regulatory, and organizational considerations. Coordinating cross-functional teams and external advisors to evaluate expansion opportunities, developing business cases and governance structures, and advancing Northeastern's inorganic growth strategy and Global University System.
