Senior Support Worker

We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker role working a 24-hour shift pattern on a rolling 3-week rota, for Dean Grange and Milestones.

Dean Grange is situated in Broadoak, Newnham. We support people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge. Milestones is a specialist residential service in Cinderford. We support people with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that may challenge.

The people we support are encouraged and enabled to lead full and happy lives. They are supported to have more choice and control in their lives. Their strengths, abilities, and preferences are identified so that the care provided can be as person-centred and meaningful to each individual as possible.

• Shift times: 7:00am to 11:00pm (16-hour waking shift), followed by a sleep-in from 11:00pm to 7:00am.
• Rota pattern: 1 shift on, 2 days off.
• During the sleep-in period, you are only required to wake for emergencies. If called upon during the night, any time worked is paid at the normal hourly rate.
• Pay rate: £14.23 per hour for the 16-hour waking shift.
• Sleep-in payment: £45 per sleep-in shift.
• The waking hours are salaried, with sleep-in payments paid in arrears.
  

Your day-to-day…

• Support both management and team members in the day-to-day running of the service
• Ensure duties are allocated effectively and safely
• Offer enhanced care with a flexible learning approach for all the people in our care
• Provide guidance & encouragement through physical & emotional support
• Learn about individuals’ specific needs & provide help in the most appropriate way
• Assist with medical & welfare needs and report as required
• Safeguard
• Maintain a safe & clean environment for all
