Essential Functions
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair instrumentation, PLC, and electrical systems to support reliable plant operations.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot PLC systems including I/O, power supplies, field devices, VFDs and motion control devices.
- Calibrate instrumentation using a HART device is preferred.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Rockwell ControlLogix systems.
- Perform preventive maintenance and independently diagnose complex instrumentation, PLC, and electrical issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair plant electrical equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, interconnection diagrams, blueprints, and pneumatic system drawings.
- Calculate electrical loads, size conductors and circuit protection, and design or modify electrical circuits as needed.
- Plan instrumentation maintenance activities, including labor coordination and material requirements.
- Implement and support electrical, electronic, and pneumatic control systems throughout the facility.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc flash protocols, hazard identification, and required PPE use.
- Communicate effectively with team members, exercise sound judgment, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience preferred; or
- 10+ years of hands-on experience in instrumentation, electrical, and electronic systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Availability to work weekends, overtime, holidays, and participate in an on-call rotation.
Environment
Requires sustained mental focus and attention to detail while performing a wide range of maintenance activities. Work involves extensive standing and walking, often in high-noise environments and conditions that may include extreme heat, cold, dampness, vibration and heights. Frequent physical activity includes climbing, bending, crouching, lifting, pushing/pulling, and reaching, with the ability to lift up to 50+ pounds.
