About the Position

Harris Health is seeking a Supervisor Pharmacist to support pharmacy operations across Smith Clinic, Casa De Amigos, and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital.

The Supervisor Pharmacist helps ensure safe, efficient, and compliant pharmacy operations by leading daily workflows, supervising staff, and maintaining regulatory and professional standards. This position provides collaborative leadership while supporting formulary adherence, medication safety, clinical interventions, and continuous professional development.

In this role, you will provide high-quality education, oversee pharmacy activities, support clinical decision-making, and help foster a culture of excellence in medication management. The ideal candidate combines strong clinical pharmacy knowledge with leadership, communication, and analytical skills to support optimal patient care.

Requirements

• Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy required

  • Doctor of Pharmacy preferred

• Licensure and Certifications

  • Texas Pharmacist License or eligibility for Texas Pharmacist licensure; must obtain licensure within 90 days of employment

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross within 90 days of employment

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required for inpatient positions before or within 6 months of employment; preferred for outpatient positions

  • IV Sterile Certification required for inpatient areas and Fondren Pharmacy

  • Texas Pharmacist Preceptor Certification preferred

• Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive, relevant pharmacy experience

  • For ACS positions: 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in an outpatient/retail setting required when no residency has been completed

  • For inpatient positions: 2 years of progressive, relevant experience in an inpatient hospital setting required when no residency has been completed

  • Completion of a PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency highly preferred
