Opportunity
LaSalle is establishing a new, dedicated Product Development function to bring discipline and strategic focus to how we design, evaluate, and bring investment products to market. This is a newly created role with meaningful scope: you will help define what a best-in-class product function looks like at LaSalle and will serve as the connector between investment strategy, market intelligence, and product execution to ensure the right ideas get prioritized, developed rigorously, and delivered to Investor Relations with the materials, narrative, and structure needed to support a successful capital raise.
The SVP, Product Development will serve as the firm's primary point of accountability for ensuring our product suite is strategically sound, commercially positioned, and effectively brought to market. You will partner with Investment Management, Investor Relations, Research, Legal, and Marketing and will report directly to the Global COO/President.
About This Role This is a unique opportunity to build something meaningful at a firm with strong fundamentals and a clear mandate for growth. LaSalle's 2030 strategy makes new product innovation a central priority for the first time, and this role sits at the center of that effort. The successful candidate will have the backing of senior leadership and a clear path to impact from day one.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Ideation
Maintain deep, current knowledge of LaSalle’s product suite alongside competitor offerings, investor demand trends, and emerging product structures globally
Develop a systematic approach to idea generation, synthesizing input from Investment Management, Research, IR, and clients, and translate insights into actionable product concepts
Build and maintain a prioritized product pipeline, ensuring alignment with LaSalle’s firmwide strategic objectives and the Three Councils governance framework
Lead structured product scoring and evaluation, assessing market viability, strategic fit, and commercial potential for new concepts before they advance to the approval stage
Stakeholder Alignment & Orchestration
Act as the connector between Investment Management, IR, Research, Marketing, Legal, and Finance throughout the product lifecycle, clarifying ownership, managing handoffs, and keeping workstreams on track
Serve as the primary point of contact for new product ideas across the firm, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are engaged at the right stages
Partner with regional COOs and business line heads to surface product development needs and ensure global coordination on new initiatives
Product Development & Governance
Shepherd new product ideas through LaSalle’s governance process, coordinating across Investment Management, IR, Research, Tax, Legal, and Finance to ensure timely, well-prepared submissions
Own the product development project plan once a concept receives initial approval, tracking milestones, managing work-streams, and escalating risks as needed
Partner with Global Funds Counsel and Tax on fund structuring decisions, ensuring go-to-market and operational readiness are addressed early in the process
Drive structured life-cycle reviews at defined intervals, evaluating whether existing products remain strategically relevant and appropriately positioned
Conduct strategic wind-down assessments of products approaching end-of-life, including evaluating wind-down timing, investor communication sequencing, and successor product considerations. Ensure continuity of narrative and materials through fund close and provide structured input to inform future product design decisions.
Go-to-Market Readiness
Partner with IR and Global Marketing on the fund narrative framework for each product, defining the core investment thesis, differentiated positioning, and key messages, and ensure this foundation is delivered to IR and Global Marketing with sufficient clarity and depth to underpin all capital-raising materials
Define go-to-market readiness criteria for each new product, including confirmation that fund structure, investor eligibility, fee terms, and regulatory approvals are sufficiently resolved before handoff to IR for capital raising; flag and escalate unresolved issues that could affect launch timing or investor confidence
Maintain an active feedback loop with IR throughout the capital-raising period, incorporating investor and consultant input to refine product positioning, identify structural considerations, and inform the design of successor products
Coordinate compliance and legal review of all marketing collateral and oversee quality control processes
Support IR Project Managers in capital raising, partnering with IR on investor diligence, messaging, and ongoing feedback loops.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
8–12+ years of experience in institutional investment management, investment banking, or a closely adjacent field; direct experience in product strategy, product development, or fund marketing strongly preferred
Track record of developing or launching institutional financial products, including demonstrated ownership of complex, cross-functional workstreams
Exceptional ability to translate investment strategy into compelling, investor-ready narratives; strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience operating in matrix organizations and managing stakeholder-intensive processes requiring alignment across multiple senior leaders
Familiarity with real estate investment structures, institutional fundraising dynamics, and the fund formation process
High financial acumen, including ability to evaluate fund economics, profitability models, and fee structures
Strong project management skills and follow-through; comfort with ambiguity in a build-out phase
Collaborative, intellectually curious, and direct; able to challenge and be challenged constructively.
