About the job
We are looking for a Dutch-Speaking Social Media Content Moderator to join an international digital platform project in Lisbon, Portugal.
In this on-site role, you will review Dutch-language content and help maintain a safe, respectful, and trustworthy online environment.
Please note that the position may involve reviewing sensitive or potentially disturbing material, including violence, hate speech, criminal activity, cyberbullying, and other harmful content.
Key Responsibilities
- Review videos, images, written content, audio, advertisements, and live streams.
- Evaluate Dutch-language content according to platform policies and community standards.
- Identify, classify, block, or remove content that violates legal, ethical, or platform requirements.
- Moderate posts, comments, reports, and appeals.
- Apply appropriate labels and classifications to online content.
- Help prevent cybercrime, harassment, and other harmful online activities.
- Document moderation decisions accurately.
- Identify recurring issues and escalate complex cases when necessary.
- Collaborate with policy, compliance, and legal teams.
Requirements
- Dutch at C2 or native level is required.
- English at a minimum B2 level is required.
- Strong attention to detail and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to follow frequently updated policies and procedures.
- Comfortable performing repetitive and structured tasks.
- Ability to handle sensitive or potentially distressing content professionally.
- Previous experience in content moderation, social media, customer service, or a related field is an advantage.
- Availability to work rotational shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
- Availability to work on-site in Lisbon.
- EU citizenship or a valid Portuguese work permit is required.
Working Schedule
- Full-time position: 40 hours per week.
- Eight working hours per day, plus a one-hour lunch break.
- Rotational shifts from Monday to Sunday.
- The project operates 24/7, with shifts scheduled between 00:00 and 24:00.
- On-site working model in Lisbon.
Training
- Approximately 15 working days of training.
- Eight hours of training per day.
- Training includes systems, project procedures, content policies, and practical on-the-job preparation.
- The training period is proportionally compensated following successful completion.
- The employment contract is signed after successful completion of training.
Compensation & Benefits
- Minimum base salary: €1055.00 gross per month.
- Meal allowance per working day, approximately €154 per month based on 22 working days.
- Potential productivity bonus of up to €120 per month, subject to performance and attendance.
- Company accommodation may be available for eligible candidates.
- Alternative salary structure available for candidates who do not use company accommodation.
