MLB Workforce is recruiting an experienced Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician for a direct-placement opportunity with an established industrial operation in the San Antonio area.
This is not a temporary position. The selected candidate will be hired directly by our client into a full-time maintenance role.We are looking for an experienced industrial maintenance professional with a strong combination of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Candidates must have heavy industrial or steel industry experience and hands-on experience troubleshooting 480-volt electrical systems.Experience maintaining or repairing diesel-powered equipment and overhead cranes is highly preferred and will receive strong consideration.

- $28.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience
- 3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:00 AM

WHAT YOU'LL DOAs an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic / Electrician, you will help maintain the reliability and performance of industrial machinery, production equipment, cranes, diesel-powered equipment, and facility systems. Primary responsibilities include:
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Troubleshoot and repair 480-volt industrial electrical systems
- Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and assist with repairs of overhead cranes and related equipment
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair diesel-powered industrial equipment as needed
- Install, maintain, and repair motors, motor controls, VFDs, conveyors, pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and production equipment
- Troubleshoot AC/DC circuits, control panels, relays, contactors, sensors, and PLC-controlled equipment
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Install and modify electrical wiring, conduit, panels, and equipment in accordance with applicable codes and standards
- Inspect equipment to identify potential failures and recommend corrective action
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and emergency maintenance situations
- Maintain accurate work orders, maintenance records, and parts documentation
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
- Follow all required safety procedures, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, and PPE requirements
- Work closely with production personnel to maximize equipment uptime and efficiency
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONSWe are especially interested in candidates with a well-rounded heavy industrial maintenance background. Priority experience includes:
- Heavy industrial or steel industry experience – REQUIRED
- 480-volt electrical troubleshooting experience – REQUIRED
- Overhead crane maintenance, troubleshooting, or repair experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Diesel mechanic / diesel-powered equipment maintenance experience – HIGHLY PREFERRED
- Strong industrial mechanical and electrical maintenance background
- Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred
- Experience with industrial motors, motor controls, and VFDs
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial machinery and production equipment
- Ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- PLC troubleshooting experience preferred
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Willingness to work overtime, weekends, or on-call schedules when required
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Technical school, apprenticeship, or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field is preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires the ability to perform hands-on work in a heavy industrial environment, including:
- Standing and walking for extended periods
- Climbing stairs and ladders
- Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
- Pushing and pulling equipment or materials
- Repetitive hand and arm movements
- Working around industrial machinery and equipment
- Frequently handling tools, equipment, and components
- Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds
- Performing work requiring good vision, hearing, communication, and coordination
